Good Morning Everyone – MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!
Last night, my DD, SIL, and I went to visit my sister and her kids and grands. We had a nice time, but it is a LOT of driving – 2 hours each way.
They have a Christmas Eve tradition – everyone contributes a wrapped gift (something between $5 and $20). It can be nice or funny. Everyone gets a number. Number 1 picks the first gift. Number 2 can either take Number 1’s gift or pick one from the pile. Number 3 can take 1 or 2’s gift or one from the pile. This goes on until all gifts have been selected. It gets pretty funny (there were 13 of us). I ended up picking 3 gifts from the pile (a bank with $2; a juggling ball; a hot dog in a bagel). My bank and ball were taken & I ended up with the hot dog!
OK – the hot dog is my strangest gift this season. Can anyone top it?
I am on my way out to my DD's - my SIL is making us breakfast & she is making us dinner.
Have a WONDER-FULL day everyone,
I LOVE you,
Lynn

Some give things like a bigger gifts like a tube of lotion from Bath and Body works ~ that has to be pricey. So, I feel like I should do something too.
Hi Gayle,
Gift-giving/getting is such a tricky thing. Who do you give to; who gives to you; how much you/they spend. At 65, I have finally gotten to the point where I give what I want to whom I want and don’t worry about who gives what to me.
My best friend and I stopped exchanging “gifts” a few years ago. We always do something as our gift to each other. This year, we are going to a Homewood Suites for New Year’s Eve (has an indoor heated pool and a Jacuzzi and a kitchen) and doing a jigsaw puzzle and making snacks.

Hi Donna,
I LOVE the visual of Isabella & the HAPPY goats! How adorable!
Hi Rosey,
Your DH is a keeper! Hope you feel good today & get to enjoy your Christmas.

And it is snowing again. Up to 6" is expected by morning. Hope all of the travelers arrive at their destinations safely.
Hi Lily,
We are supposed to get snow today and tomorrow. So far, just cold and gray.

Those little goats sure are cute, PT – some of those antics reminded me of lil’ Turtle. He’s taken to climbing up as high as he can get, and then leaping off like Superman without his cape. So far, no broken bones, but I swear that khat thinks he can fly! I have an antique Chippendale highboy in my bedroom – we have high ceilings, and the top of the highboy is only about a foot and a half from the ceiling. Turtle has taken to leaping from the bed to the dresser to the top of the highboy, where he perches, looking – in the dark – like an owl, or worse, like a wildcat ready to pounce. Rather disconcerting, trying to sleep with him sitting up near the ceiling staring down at you. Sometimes, with the light filtering in from the hallway, you can just see his two eyes gleaming up there like the Cheshire cat in Alice in Wonderland.
Well, I just want to say how much I appreciate – and really, really love – this group of ours! I know we’ve all been busy getting ready for the holidays, but it still gives me a lift when I can drop by here for 15 minutes or an hour and just hear your thoughts – and share some of mine as well. So thanks, everybody, and Happy Holidays to all (and to all a goodnight!)
Z
Hi Zoe,
Sorry about your eye. Hope it is better now that you are home. Do your 2011 good intentions include exercise? Want to join me on the Presidential Challenge?
Funny, the goats reminded me of my kitties. Think there is some kind of hidden link between cats and goats?
I love you and all our Golden Girls also. I talk about everyone all the time to my friends and family. I am still hoping that we can plan a celebration get-together for your retirement. Do we have a date?

Hi Karen,
I sure hope you are feeling better today.

I get kind of paranoid this time of year and find myself holding my breath when someone is coughing/sneezing/etc. Need to start using that instant hand wash stuff.

Hi Karen,
How did the SF crustless pie turn out. Want to share that recipe?
I agree about running from the “germ-spreaders” amongst us. I had a mammogram last week & the technician coughed and sneezed all through the procedure. I kept trying to hold my breath.
Hi Bobbi,
Are you getting snowed in/frozen? I keep seeing weather reports about your area & always think of you & hope you are keeping warm.
