I'd love to hear how the bread turns out. I REALLY miss bread and am not sure if any bread would still be a trigger food, but I haven't had any in weeks. In the weeks before that I just had pumpernickel or Arnold ww sandwich thins. I hear what you say about the rice cakes. Doesn't matter if they're purple - my BS goes through the roof
I LOVE chickpeas! Do you buy the chana dal canned? Or do you have to soak and cook it. Can you tell me where Mendosa's site is? I'm always interested in new recipes (just ask Crystle - haha)
For tonight I decided to throw in some frozen boneless/skinless chicken breasts in the crock pot on speedcook, and layered them with frozen spinach, bacon shreds (just 3 slices in the whole batch - about 55 calories), sliced mushrooms, 5-cheese shredded Italian and part-skim mozzarella, with spaghetti sauce over the top (I'm into layers). I'll probably cook egg noodles for the family, zucchini slices for me.
Toni, you made me hungry for oatmeal so I made some for lunch. I added cottage cheese for some protein and some sf maple syrup and a little light butter. I hope I don't regret it at my next blood sugar because it was SUCH a TREAT! Stir fry sounds awesome...I just can't have rice of any kind yet. Even brown jacks up my sugars
. But when I can I'll really enjoy having a good stir fry.Crystle: how do you eat a few cashews? Please teach me! They're like a narcotic to me. I can polish off a whole bag of them before I knew what hit me. Oh they're my FAVORITE nut...which is why I snack on almonds! LOL Thanks for the tip of the day. I, too, found it was right up my alley. Lately I've been having real trouble with this, always being afraid I'll still be hungry so polishing something off when I could have stopped about 1/3 of the way back, and then regretting it. I'll try to be more mindful of this come dinner time. Thanks again.
Scrappinhut, Bob, miss you. Hope you're doing OK!
Have a wonderful evening, everybody. Thanks again for running this thread. I really look forward to seeing how everyone is. It's a big help to me.
Love,
Dee

and to brag about dinner. My pulled pork BBQ was divine and I didn't even mind it on the WW rounds. I had a nice salad with lots of green peppers on it. I'm washing it down with lots of water.
I was thinking of getting one. They have some good deals right now. Even though we belong to the gym, I would like to have one at home. How did your chicken turn out? Was your spinach still frozen when you put it in?

), I have found that if I eat less, I gain. Especially when I'm sick. As for going to work sick... I tend to be that way, too, until my boss yelled at me and said, "You know, we don't want your germs...if your sick, STAY HOME!" He was an very anal man, but it put it in a different perspective for me by thinking of the others I could be making sick. Glad you're feeling better!
