  • I would like to join in with your daily walk to lose the pounds. I also belong to another site that has helped greatly with motivation and moving me in the right direction. Support is a wonderful thing and this site seems to have it also so I would enjoy posting here.
    Sunday I walked 2.5, Monday 4.0, Thurs. 4.0.
    I recently started to walk outside with the beautiful weather we have been having. I tend to enjoy the outdoors and wildlife. So walking around a local lake at the State Park has been good for me. I also have a friend whom has begun walking with me. I work out as well at the gym a few times a week. Yesterday did 40 min. at the gym and then walked the lake at night. That should jump my metabolism a bit I can only pray. I have lost 10 lbs. since Feb. and alot of it is determination, support from my site I belong to. Enjoy and keep up the good work everyone. This is wonderful for all of us!

    It's Raining here today so I'm not sure if I'll have a chance to walk.. and they are calling for snow this weeking.. JoY

  • Got another 4mi in today bringing my total up to 46! With a week left to go, it looks like I'll be breaking the 50mi mark!

    Congrats to all of you for getting your miles in! Keep up the FANTASTIC work, ladies! You're all doing amazing!

    I didn't walk yesterday. It was extremely cold and windy. I do have 23.5 miles out of 25 completed. I should meet my goal this weekend and I still have a whole week of April left!
  • My goal is to reach at least 10 miles for the week. This week I did reach my goal 10.5 for this week. It is rainy today so I won't be going walking. But yesterday did take the kids out of town and we did a lot of walking around that I didn't count in. Did the scale thing today and down.5lbs. I am planning a trip to the gym on sunday. Sunday's exercise helps jump start my goal for the week. I enjoy trips around the lake but it is suppose to rain.

  • I think it's pretty clear I'm not going to make my goal this month, but I'm going to do the best I can. I did get 3 miles in bringing my total up to 30 miles. I just keep going up and down this month with being sick and all. Can't seem to get anything accomplished! lol Oh well....maybe next month.

  • Good morning, walking buddies! I'm back in action today. Got in one mile this morning. That makes my total 14 miles for the month. Not close to my goal, but I'm glad to be walking again.

  • Hi girls! I read thru most of the posts.. sorry, I'm just so swamped right now. Wish I could reply to each of you today, but it'll have to wait.

    I have been eating right most days and some over on other days .. fat is almost alwaaaaaays good tho. I was at 205 this morning. It could be worse.. plus all the salt can't be helping~ LOL!

    I am not obsessing! I'm still down 72 lbs~!~ You all are doing very very well too! I even wrote down everything I ate each day on vacation! Uggh.. yes, I did eat too much most days of it tho.. LOL!

    There is quite a story behind my YMCA adventure.. to make it very short, I went in one day with $154.00 to pay my joining fee and the first month for my family and was informed that since we are a foster family.. each of my foster children would have to pay $23.00 a month (for each of the four kids) plus Bryan and I and our son would be $54 a month. So roughly, what?, $146.00 a month?? I clarified that if I had adopted them all then we would pay the 'regular family' fee of only $54 per month, no matter how many kids we had. They said correct. Well, I don't agree with their little policy, needless to say. So now I am waiting to see if the director is going to change this rule. It's discriminating. We are the only family our kids have now.. all of my four who are foster kids have parents who have been terminated on, so no one has rights to them except us, until they are adopted. I think they deserve the same treatment as we 'normal, regular, standard' people do!!! I just dunno about some people!!

    Ok, so I had my husband call the director because he can get to the point quicker than I do when I'm on my soap box.. so she said it's because one other foster family had 8 kids, and would leave them there all day long. Ok, so??? Deal with that particular family! I just don't get it... so we are waiting.. she said she might can 'waive' it for us... like she would be doing us a big favor.. You would think, if anything, the way they say they want to help the community, that they might even discount it for us (which I did not ask for or expect), or like I said, at least leave it the same!! They turned down my money bc they don't want my kids there. I have had these particular children for nearly two years! They are very respectable and responsible, polite kids.. they are doing very, very well considering what they have been through!

    It's ridiculous.. and if it gets too ugly, I'm sure we won't want to go there if they have bad feelings toward us, so I may have to just go to some other gym on weekends when my DH is home to watch them.. this sucks.

  • Azul, I wear a pedometer every day and haven't missed getting to 10,000 steps a day in a few months now! I love mine.

    Also, I am a member of AmericaOnTheMove.org. Go there! I am traveling around the whole US now! Hee hee.

This is a great place for encouragement and support for anyone who wants to get in shape! I try to post each day, but it's usually a few times a week. Gotta go! See you all next time!!   • I'm pooped. Did 4mi yesterday. Did 10 (!!!!) today. Another 10 to go this week and I will have doubled my goal for April.

  • So far I did 2.5 on the machines at the gym on sunday and todays walk will be 2.5 around the lake. I have really enjoyed walking lately and I am thinking of adding in some jogging. Just to see how it goes! I am always so hungry after my workouts lately a friend said to eat an apple before hand so I will ck it out today. The scale on saturday was the same maybe I can move it this week. I sure will try!
