  • So for GNO I had 2 beers, a grilled chicken sandwich and ten kettle chips. I ate a salad for lunch and had a 300 calorie breakfast. I totaled close to 1500 calories for the day. Hopefully, the scale won't punish me for more than a day or so.

    I have another social engagement this afternoon. I'm going to take a veggie tray and unsweetened ice tea. Hopefully, I can stay away from the junk food and adult beverages. I have to get to work so I don't have time for personals. I hope everyone stays the course today!

    Positive: Glad you beat last Friday, although it is odd that you weigh more mid-morning...do you skip breakfast?

    A small loss (0.25 lbs) for me this morning, but it was an important loss, because it puts me halfway to goal. I don't mean my July goal. I mean my overall goal. I want to lose 65 lbs in total and I've now lost 32.5 lbs, or half...yippee!

And as for being slow, I believe gardenerjoy earlier said on this thread: "It's not how long it takes to lose the pounds that matters, but how long they stay gone" (or something to that effect). That really is the important part.

  • Yes, Turtle, 0.25 adds up quickly except when it reverses, as it sadly did this morning. Also, you didn't gain 1.6 lbs of fat from eating 1750 calories...that's just water weight...it will disappear soon. Let's hope my gain and yours both disappear by tomorrow!

  • Hi All! I know I'm here too late for July, but I'm looking forward to the August challenge! I came back to 3FC just a few days ago after being away for 4 years. The one thing I'll never forget is how wonderful the support on these challenges is, and I can't wait to jump back in! (For any old-timers here, you may remember me as the first one to compile a list of everyone's goals, for the thread which FullSteamAhead started each month, to keep track of what everyone was doing, as well as the one who separated the exercise goals and weight loss goals by starting a separate thread for exercise.) Unfortunately when my computer went down four years ago, I fell off the wagon hard and it's taken me this long to get serious about losing weight again! Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself, to say hi to any of my old friends who may still be here, and to say I'm so excited to jump into the August challenge with you! I'm thrilled these challenges are still going!

    Gardenerjoy, I see you are still getting your exercise in from the exercise challenge thread. Hope you are doing well!

    Looking back over the month I am pretty happy with my attitude, efforts, and lifestyle changes. I will not be making my 9lb goal but I have so many NSV. I have navigated difficult social situations where normally I would drink and binge eat. I have pushed myself out the door to exercise at least 4 times/week. I drink 72oz of water a day and before this challenge barely drank ANY liquids at all. I have clothing that is getting looser everyday and I can now run 30 minutes without stopping. I also made my 5% weight loss goal. That's a lot for 1 month! Thank you, thank you, thank you for inspiring and motivating me. You guys are wonderful!
    Tomorrow I will post my July challenge end weight and then I will be ready to bust my rear end again in August.
