Greetings, dear friends -
Well, the cold continues. Thanks for the heads up on the Zicam, Solly. In actual fact, the only product in question was the nasal gel swab. Zinc in general can disturb your taste buds for a period of time (as well as your stomach) but it isn't permanent. In fact, I believe a great injustice has been meted out to the folks at Zicam. They have produced a number of studies that have proven that their product could not have caused the problems cited (the center is back in the sinuses and is no where near where the product is applied). We used the swabs for years and it caught a cold in its tracks every single time. The current products available don't work quite as well, unfortunately. They're appealing with the FDA to reinstate the original product. I hope they win. You can't find it now anywhere at any price. I'm so sorry you got a cold back again!! These things are miserable. Mine hasn't gone as badly as my husband and daughter's have, but I can't seem to shake it either.
Solly, it sounds like you made some great food choices. I'm just sorry they made you feel poorly later. I hope all of that ill feeling is long gone now. Enjoy your bath - I live for the day when I can get in and out of a tub again. Many pounds to go, I'm afraid...
I hope I do SOON though because the new treadmill is coming today. Every time I build up a head of steam I start hacking and can't get a good breath.
Mercee, congrats on staying OP - you're great for staying accountable! I really do think it helps!
Tech, your food selections sound wonderful. Where are you getting all of these cantaloupes in the middle of winter?? I love melons.
Crystle, I really do believe that cabbage dish is going to be put into the weekly rotation. Yep, I love it that much! Keep those wonderful recipes coming.
Well, for BF I made an omelette with 1 egg and some egg beaters, mushrooms, spinach, onions, green peppers, a little canola oil, and some LF pepper jack cheese and had an apple on the side. A yummy way to start the day.
Have been noshing on some dry roasted almonds for an afternoon snack. Dinner will involve chicken and zucchini - not sure yet how. I'll be like Scarlett and think about it later.
Have a great OP day, everyone!
Love,
Dee
