hey - i just wanted to stop in and say hi...i am in the middle of moving, everything of mine is in boxes i am only able to get on the net right now because apparently some of my neighbors have unsecured wifi connections

i am afraid to report that i have had a bad weekend - i had pizza and barely kept track of what i ate. i won't even be able to get weight when i get up tomorrow cause my scale is still at the other house

i wasn't weighing myself because i had my period, and it seemed like my weight was fluctuating really badly. does anyone else get that? i gained about five pounds in a week...

i hope to check in soon with some good news...

Mel, weight certainly does fluctuate at Aunt Flo time. Just ignore it for a while - I'm sure you have lots of other stuff to focus on with moving. Moving is the pits! I've not done it for about 20 years and am glad.

Despite a bad weekend, my BGL is decent again this morning. The weight is another matter but, hey!.... It's a new week and my fridge is loaded with veggies including some asparagus from my friend Claire's garden! Yummy!

Morning everyone..i had a very quiet weekend..the dh was at the cabin so it was just me and 2 of our dogs,the big dog goes with the dh..i enjoyed the quiet..did some house work and read alot,and made some b-day cards..i got my new ipod but have not figured how to get the music into it..im not a tech guru person but its my goal for today to figure it out ..my sl has been up the last few mornings,today it was 136i think ive been eating to many carbs,its easier to make a sanwhich than cook a meal when im here alone..ruthll those fresh vegies im jealous..vermont chick,movings stressful,when u get settled the diet will swing back to normal,as far as the weight gain,i used to do that when i had TOM..i also had troublsome periods..my dr said that women who are overweight p roduce and store extra estrogen in there fat cells so your body thinks u are having a permanent TOM thats why the heavy periods etc..she put me on provera(a male hormone) for 10 days every month..it straightened me right out and no sideaffects,you might want to ask your dr about it..my dog daisy keeps bringing me this icky well loved toy and dropping it on the keyboard,it used to be a fuzzy animal but she's destroyed it and its just a carcas now..she misses my dh..i cant imagine my life with out my fuzzy faces kids lol but she can be a pest..have agreat day everyone ((((hugs))) rosey

Hi, all. Rainy day here but on the warm side. My bgl was 151 this a.m. Could be because I fogot to bring my Glucophage to work yesterday. Seeing Robert Redford last week was wonderful. He spent about an hour being interviewed and asking questions. Can't believe he is 71! I got within a few feet of him after the event when he went to his car. I've been very bad eating wise and will have to face the music when I weigh in tomorrow night. Go to the med lab in the morning to get blood drawn for my A1c. Hate those visits because I have to eat early the night before so I'll be fasting in the morning.

Hope everyone is doing good.Today my FBGL was 95 and after meals has been between 95 and 101...Maybe the exercise from last night is paying off.

No news about Meowee? I miss reading her.

Poor Meowee is still struggling with her sickies. I called her yesterday as I was getting worried. She is resting a lot, taking $$$ drugs and will be back as soon as she feels up to it. In the meantime "Eat your veggies!" says the Veggie Queen!

I'm up way too early today and thought it might be the BGL but I'm 4.1 (73.8) - a bit low but OK. Today I will call to get an appointment for my HA1C. They have a new machine at my clinic that just needs a pinprick of blood rather than the big tubes and gives you the reading right away. Neat! (I hope I didn't just dream it.)

Mel--sorry to hear about the rough TOM! I've been there before! I'm looking forward to not having to shop only at Torrid or Lane Bryant. My short term goal is to get back down to a 14 pants and 18 top like when I first started college.

Things at work have been stressful this week and that has made my sugar spike up but nothing too scary. It's been about 124-135. I've continued to work out and can begin to see the fruits of my labor. My jeans are fitting better and so are my tops! YAy!!! I see my doctor next week and I'm looking forward to hearing her feedback. I didn't make it to my diabetes care class for Kaiser on Tuesday...I had a late meeting. : / but i'm signed up for the one next month.

Question: I take Metformin ER. I have been taking my first pill at 12 (lunch) because I can't always eat breakfast. The 2nd pill i've beentaking it later (like 8 pm-ish) Is that not good? I know I should try take it earlier...

what do you laides think? Do you sometimes take you pills late?

Quick check-in. Bad BGL this morning at 2.3!!! That's 41.4 which is way too low! I did not have many carbs with dinner but drank some wine. I need to smarten up. Feel OK now but it sure took a while to get with it. HA1C gets tested next Wednesday and they do have the new machine - I didn't dream it!

Beautiful day out there. I have banking to do after lunch but hope to get some more work done in the garden later. I am still waiting for my first asparagus but the rhubarb is ready to pick. I love stewed rhubarb mixed with SF strawberry Jello! And it IS a vegetable, right?

Moni, when does your doctor want you to take your Metformin? I am on 1500 mg and am to take one at breakfast and the other two with dinner.

Morning ladies its so pretty out i love spring,my grdd is going to spend the nite..shes going to teach me about ipods and im going to give her a sewing lesson..good trade ..shes 11 and a cute sassy redhead..,sl was 127 this am dont know why it was high didnt even snack last nite..i take metformin er,500mg x 2 but was told to take them after my evening meal..i guess we are all diff....moni er means extended release,so it works over aperiod of time.. ruth thats a scary low my lowest ever was 61 and the highest was fasting 236..my normal now is around the 100 mark..take care of your selves ttfn rosey
