    Late last week I began to struggle with shin splints (first time ever!) so I've taken the week off running to rest and heal. I may try a short run sometime this weekend.

  • Ok, finally getting my stats posted from last week:

    Monday= 15min. yoga
    Tuesday= 20 min. walk
    Wednesday= 15 min. yoga & 15 min. of toning exercises
    Thurs.= 15 min. yoga
    Friday= 15 min. yoga
    Sat.= 15 min. yoga
    Sunday= 20 min. yoga

    I didn't feel like it was a very productive week, but I did manage to get a total of 130 minutes.

    I hope to get in a really good walk tonight...it's supposed to finally be down in the mid 80's tonight!

  • curvynotlumpy: I just wrote up my cure for shin splints in a blog comment. I'll see if I can find it...
    Here it is!
    I learned a shin splint exercise from an aerobics instructor who was about 60 at the time and seemed to know helpful little things about everything. Stand with your weight on one foot and that knee bent. Put the other foot flat in front, then lift and lower the toe keeping the heel on the ground. Tap the toe up and down several times and then side to side. Repeat on the other side. Cleared my shin splints right up. I do it before I walk on hills and I’ve never had them since.
    Maybe that will help you, too. Let me know if you try it.
