Okay Meg, Maintainer Extraordinaire and Grand Moderator . That post of yours up there - the one where I sat and nodded in agreement throughout - please make sure you sticky it in the "Posts worth reading over and over again" section AND the "Maintainer's Milestones". Thank you very much.
And do have a nice day.

Congratulations, Meg! (aka The Bionic Maintaining Moderator - catchy and appropriate, right?)
Thank you for all the wisdom you dispense, advice you give, and for just being there - being such a rock, is the best way I can think to put it, in this forum! I know you do work very hard to maintain your weight and you deserve all the wonderful rewards you've gotten from maintaining!
As an obesity researcher once told me, I may look like a "normal" (never overweight) person on the outside, but a simple blood test would reveal the fact that I'm really a reduced obese person.
A test for leptin levels. Apparently we reduced obese have permanently lowered leptin levels. There are clinical trials underway to see if injections of leptin can reverse the effects of lowered leptin on metabolism. Unfortunately, I'm too old to qualify -- the ones I checked at Columbia wanted people under the age of 50.
Meg, I haven't been around much, but I want to say many, MANY congratulations to you!!!! Thank you for always sticking around here, proving that long term maintenance IS possible!
