I want in also...I have never done a 5k before. I will also be walking with hubby. Will try to do it all at once but we are only up to 1.75 miles. We will see how it goes. So i guess Im a virgin plus a hubby.LOL
thanks for setting this up for us!!
I think my hubby would laugh at the idea of me being a avirgin again after 10 yrs of marriage and kids. But we will make it a family affair with the dog!
I'm in as a walker with my DH. Actually this is kind of funny since I'm signed up for the "Race for the Cure" 5k NEXT weekend! Two 5k's in a row! I did actually run (jog) a 5k with DH a couple years ago, but he hurt his knees, and I later hurt my knees as well, so no running or jogging for us.
Right now the weather forecast for this weekend is 30% chance of showers, but I hope it will clear up! If not we'll be on the treadmill.
I'm in <ack!!!!> with the DOG [magnolia louise, the rottweiler-lab mix] !!!! of course. and i'll have to break it up - the old knees ya know.
some of it will be hiking - some will be level walking. and maybe i'll even dig up the pedometer just to make sure i don't cheat!
and BTW - i'm NOT a 5K virgin!!!! i did one a couple of years ago - with the dog, of course - and we finished DEAD LAST. and i didn't care one little bit. WE FINISHED!!!!!
I'm in the "my family won't know what hit them"/wogger category. DD13 is going with me. We'll be at the local park, weather permitting, otherwise we'll be on the treadmill. Thanks for getting this started, we need to be sure we make it an annual affair. (Can we order T-shirts? )
What a good idea, EZ, as usual you have great threads! I would love to be in the cycling category...I will do the 6+ some change-mile track at Lake Murray. It's been a long time since we went, busy with school and life, so this is just what I need to get going again.
I'm in! I guess I'm in the "Elite but on a treadmill" category . My knee can't manage even a mile and a half outdoors, but I know I can do it on the treadmill if I alternate walking/sprinting with a 1% incline for most of it.
