I started the South Beach Diet on Sunday. So far I've already lost 1 1/2 lbs. However, I've been noticing at night that I'm getting these headaches. At first I thought it was a caffiene headache, but the Diet Coke didn't help. So my question is, is this carb withdrawal? Or something else? Has anyone else experienced something like this?

It's carb withdrawal. Remember that you can eat legumes - they help. This is not a no carb plan.

It's part of the detox process. Your body is cleansing itself of the bad carbs, sugars, and other nasties. You should be feeling much better in the next day or two.

Hi there and welcome. I also started on Sunday and the first 2 days i had the headaches but now they are gone, it's normal. I have yogurt everyday so I get some good carbs in with that. I'm down 5 lbs!

I started on Sunday again! Did the diet last year and lost 20lbs in 3 months, so it does work well. Eating the beans will help with the headaches! Goodluck!
