Default Soy Flour

Since I'm doing Phase I for two weeks in spirit of a fresh New Years' start...

I've seen recipes that call for soy flour, does anyone have any input on this? Does it taste good? Is it easy to cook with? Cooking tips? I've never used anything with Soy or even Tofu..

Thanks

I bought some soy compound a few weeks ago but am unsure of how to go about using it.... the packaging says that you can use it in drinks, smoothies, on breakfast cereal, desserts, baked items, batters, dips, spreads, salad dressing and sauces. I take it that it is pretty much a straight flour substitute...

Here is the website of the product I purchased www.soyproducts.com.au

If you access the domestic site (on the right hand side of the screen) it has a big recipe section.. maybe that would be good to look at?

Let me know how you go!

Good luck with phase 1 again... your success is very inspiring!

Default Hi MA neighbor!

I have used soy flour seveal times as the show "low carb and loving it" on the Food Network uses it often. I find that it has a very powdery taste to it, though perhaps I didn't cook long enough because it does burn much faster than old fashioned breadcrumbs. However, It does help with the comfort foods...I've made onion rings with it (I find it doesn't coat the same either) and frfied chicken. Both got me through the craving....good luck...and check out the foodnetwork.com and then under the show for the Comfort Foods episode and it will give you recipes....
