No, he's not crazy. I'm a vet assistant and we all talk to/from them. hahahah. I think it's a fairly common occurrence.

My boyfriend and I talk to our dog and sometimes respond for him too so I don't find that weird at all. He's our baby! Sometimes (jokingly) my boyfriend says the dog told him to do stuff that I don't approve of.

Good to know I'm in good company. At times I'm sure I know what my cat is telling me. With my dog - our conversations usually are around food, walks, letting her outside or cookies.

I was very close to naming my cat Yoda from starwars as she often looks like Yoda when her ears are pulled back. Lol

Made some the best decisions of my life after a good conversation with my dogs. lol. They are man's best friend for a reason, they are good listeners and sometimes when we hear what we are saying, we come up with the right answer. Your hubby is totally normal and probably a happier human for having those conversations

Heck no! I have two cats and a dog. I talk to all of them. My husband was deployed twice, and both times most of my daily interaction was with my cat (we only had one pet at the time).

What's really funny is that my animals talk to me! I don't really understand them, of course, but then again, I'm sure they don't understand me, either!

Having grown up with dogs, I'd say it's unormal to NOT talk to your dog=)

hey yeah i talk to mine all the time...i have 2 kitties and a doggie woggie...one kitty is siamese (he talks back and you can have a conversations with him no problems)..the other is an oriental and she does not talk as much but will when she needs something...i swear sometimes they do not need to talk and ask me what they want..i just know...they are my kids as we are childless and i call us mum and dad...heck my hubby carts my siamese male cat nicky around like a child and tells him to go to sleep and be quiet...i call them all sorts of names like my child or furr kids as my dad calls them..they are spoilt rotten and sometimes i think eat better than us!!..my border collie cross who we rescued from the pound is chubby too and one of my goals is to take her walking twice a day...everyone loves her and i suspect my neighbours (who are both single elderly men) feed her when i am not looking....she could charm the pants off anybody with those doughy brown eyes of hers..they are part of our family and we treat them so..hubby blames nicky the siamese for everything for example leaving the toilet seat up...lol..lol..lol...rofl...cheers liz

LOL My whole family talks to AND for my dog. We'll joke around and say "Shadow, why don't you go pee for me?" and someone will say, speaking for Shadow, "I would but I don't have thumbs! I tried to buy some at the thumb store, but they were sold out!"

My fiance buys our younger/boy dog clothes, talks to both dogs, has big conversations with the girl dog regarding her behavior. He also takes the boy dog to bed with him, holds him in his lap when he is playing xbox and insists that the boy dog likes to watch Doctor Who and horror movies with him.

I think your DH sounds totally normal.

I think my fiance wants a baby/child but is too stubborn to admit it.
