Default Ladies I need your help

Am I suppose to be eating at maintence calories during pregnancy? I had been eating 1500 cals for 8 months to lose weight and now that Im pregnant Im at a loss with my other 3 pregnancy I was morbidly obese and never cared about how much I ate etc. I know 1500 cals is not enough as I feel dizzy alot if I only eat 1500 cals or less I felt better yesterday when I ate 1900 cals but there is no way I can eat 2300 cals a day mentally its driving me crazy. So how many cals did or do you ladies eat was it at maintence or below or above maintence? Please help Im confused.

I'm no help here...I stuffed my face the entire 9 months. I do know pregnancy requires an additional 300 cals, so maybe you could figure out maintenance for you bmi and then add 300.

Hi, im a nurse and my advice would be to disscuss this with your doctor. Pregnancy requires an additional 500 cal/day ( glass a milk and half a sandwich ). Best of luck to you both!

My Dr just told me (although you should talk to yours) that it only takes an extra 200-300 calories per day above maintenance AFTER the first tri to make a baby. In the first tri you don't need to increase calories at all.
