I have one biological daughter and have no intention of having any kids that I keep. I'm willing to MAYBE have one someday (preferably a boy). But I'm really hoping to end up with a guy who doesn't want any kids.

I have a DS who is 3 and a DD who is 14 months. I'd love to have another...but DH & I aren't on the same page on that. I'll keep working on him. ;)

jitterfish - Like you, I didn't think I'd ever have a boy - my son is the first boy in our family in 70 years! Luckily, my sister quickly had another boy, so DS won't be the only one in the family now. :)

We are expecting our first, and we don't really plan to have a second. I honestly don't see how we could afford it: we have to use donor sperm/IUI, so that's a couple grand a try, and while I have enough sick leave saved up for one baby, I couldn't wait 5 years to save up enough again, so that would be six weeks unpaid, which would be three or four thousand dollars, and then there's a couple grand for the delivery itself. We'd need to have a ten or fifteen thousand saved before we could even start, and I don't see being able to do that while also getting used to all the new expenses associated with this baby (and my husband is going to quit his job and stay home, so that makes it even more expensive).

I come from a tradition of big families (I am one of six: my mom is one of 12) but I think only children do fine. My sister is pregnant as well and she lives in the same town as I do, so this baby will grow up with cousins. I can totally understand why people would want more than one, but I don't think it's in the cards for us.

We have two boys (4 & 2) with a girl on the way in June - we're done, unless there's a major oops! Still trying to decide on birth control for after this baby. Neither DH or I are getting sterilized so there's always the potential for another if we're not careful.

Hi everyone! I'm new, lol. I expect to be in the Pregnant-Nursing area a lot!

We have two daughters, 2.5 years old and 6 months old. We would like to have probably 4 kids. 3 or 4 or 5 is what I usually say. :)

Jitterfish, where in NZ are you? I lived in Cambridge for 1.5 years, in Picton for 6 weeks and Wanaka for 5 months.
We considered moving to NZ, but decided that it's just too far away from family. It is very much 'home' to my dh and I though. We love it there! :D

I have a 15yo DD and an almost 13yo DS. After almost ten years together my hubby and I have decided to get my tubal reversed next year so we can try to have a baby :)

I need to lose 30-40 pounds before I can get the tubal reversal surgery so I'm here for help and support with that :)

(I'm 35)

Crazy! You live where 'home' really is! I went to Capernwray Bible College in Monavale. I met my husband there and we're back in Canada. We're moving up to Whitehorse, Yukon in May- my dh grew up there, I grew up in Vancouver. The Yukon is gorgeous, we can't wait to move and set down some roots finally!

We have ten....four girls and six boys ages 20 to 39. We have 12 grandkids with number 13 on the way in July. I used to do a lot of fasting and dieting so ended up quite overweight but since I started intuitive eating, I have lost 45lb.

lindalee9 04-20-2011 05:48 PM

I've been away from these boards for a while now.

I have one boy - 17 months old and one little girl on the way. I am due July 29.

livb528 05-09-2011 12:33 AM

I have one DD who will be turning 1 in a week (I cannot believe it!) and have one on the way. We aren't sure of our due date yet but it'll either be a Thanksgiving or Christmas baby. We want a bigger family (5 or 6 kids) but we're taking it one at a time.
