How many kiddlets?

How many kids has everyone got? Are you intending on having more? And for those pregnant how long to go?

I've got two, DD is just over 2years and DS is 5mos today. No more for us, we always said we just wanted the two kids and we were lucky enough to get one of each (males don't occur in my family -LOL- DS was the first boy in 60years!).

pattypaw 04-15-2011 12:52 AM

We have 7.. 19 yr old son, 17 yr son, 15 yr. daughter, 9 yr twin boys, 8 yr son, and my baby girl will be 2 in may.

Iianae 04-15-2011 05:42 AM

I have 2, my dear daughter will be 20 in June and my sweet son will be 15 in July. I would have LOVED to have more but alas, it was not meant to be...

Latchkey Princess 04-15-2011 10:13 AM

I've got two and one on the way. DD1 is 3, DD2 is about 17 months and DS1 is due the second week of May (tho I'm hoping for sooner). We aren't sure whether we're done or not, we might want one more after this one.

Beck 04-15-2011 10:17 AM

I've got 6 sweeties; 4 boys (ages 13-7) and twin girls (5).

No more kids for us; we wanted 6 or 7 before I turned 35; we were blessed with 6 by the time I was 33, and I feel our family is complete.

WendeeLou 04-15-2011 12:34 PM

We have one- A boy, Max, and he is 4! We have been trying for number two for 2 years and 4months!! Someday!! *fingers crossed*:crossed:

Gale02 04-16-2011 04:02 PM

We have 2 boys - 2 years old and 7 months old. It's currently the plan to have more, I hope to have another one before #2 is 3 years old. We've talked about having 5 or 6, but we've got to get into a bigger house before then... 2 bedrooms just won't cut it with that many kiddos! :)

Morethananumber 04-16-2011 04:05 PM

I have 3 children. A son, 6.A daughter, 4 and another daughter,3. We lost a baby in 2009 and have been trying to get pregnant since then, well before that for a year too. No luck. We stopped trying and so im hoping by losing weight, ill get preg!

eclipse 04-16-2011 04:30 PM

We have 3 - 10yo boy, almost 8yo girl, and 5 yo boy. I *think* we're done, but we haven't done anything permanent in the way of preventing it.

mom4life 04-16-2011 04:53 PM

We have 5: dd1 (21), ds1 (6), dd2 (4), ds2 (2), and ds3 is almost 9 months old.
My oldest was from a previous relationship but together we have 4. We wanted 6 but after #3 we were pretty much sure we were done till our surprise baby boy came along....wouldn't have it any other way. Dh had the big "V" a couple months after ds3's birth. So I'd say we're done Dh has recently said he wishes we would've had one more but we both know we're done. I guess we'll always want more, we'll maybe adopt later when everyone is grown. :)

sacha 04-16-2011 04:55 PM

1 for me! After the summer, TTC again. Although I've not been on the pill for a few months! Luckily a 10 month old is good birth control, LOL

Goddess Jessica 04-16-2011 05:20 PM

I'm pregnant with my/our first.

I really wasn't sure I would EVER have kids but I decided we should try before we couldn't try. Since I'm 34 and most of my friends that waited this long had fertility issues, I didn't actually EXPECT to get pregnant. First freaking try.

After this pregnancy, she may be an only child. I was nauseous for the first 20 weeks. My partner is an only child so he doesn't care but I have a sister so I really would like to have a second... but I would prefer if a stork delivered her sister to our doorstep one day and I didn't actually have to GET pregnant.

You women with 6 and 7 and 4.... holy crap, people! That's a lot of kids!!!

That must be hard, do you have hypermesis?

It's funny how things work. Some women have very hard pregnancies (like you), some sail through it like a breeze (like me), hopefully your labour will be brief and you have a calm serene baby :) After all you've been through! I payed with a terrible labour and difficult baby after, lol.

But at the end of the day, as those memories fade, broodyness comes back... or not! Nothing wrong with an only child :dizzy:

Isn't it funny how you prevent it for so long and then suddenly get pregnant We were like that too, 27 & 32. Makes me scared to think if my birth control had failed when I was dating losers, LOL

At least you are in the home stretch!

jitterfish 04-16-2011 09:41 PM

Wow lots of people with lots of kids! I don't know how you all could cope and be losing weight! I find with two kids and work I have pretty much no energy left over, throw in a few more kids and I'd be dead.

Like you two previous ladies we were lucky to get pregnant easily. DD was an accident - I was on the pill and went to the Dr for a re-script and said I was tired and could I get my iron tested. I had lost 36kg then so thought my change of lifestyle and gym-going was making me tired. Nope, DH had got one past the goal post. Luckily we were intending to start trying soon (I was losing weight to have babies). DS I got pregnant with first month of trying. DH is very proud of his prowess -LOL-

This is my lil guy, he is now 10 months

tattoodles 04-17-2011 02:19 AM

I have one biological daughter and have no intention of having any kids that I keep. I'm willing to MAYBE have one someday (preferably a boy). But I'm really hoping to end up with a guy who doesn't want any kids.

sept15lija 04-17-2011 05:06 AM

I have a DS who is 3 and a DD who is 14 months. I'd love to have another...but DH & I aren't on the same page on that. I'll keep working on him. ;)

jitterfish - Like you, I didn't think I'd ever have a boy - my son is the first boy in our family in 70 years! Luckily, my sister quickly had another boy, so DS won't be the only one in the family now. :)

Shmead 04-17-2011 05:23 PM

We are expecting our first, and we don't really plan to have a second. I honestly don't see how we could afford it: we have to use donor sperm/IUI, so that's a couple grand a try, and while I have enough sick leave saved up for one baby, I couldn't wait 5 years to save up enough again, so that would be six weeks unpaid, which would be three or four thousand dollars, and then there's a couple grand for the delivery itself. We'd need to have a ten or fifteen thousand saved before we could even start, and I don't see being able to do that while also getting used to all the new expenses associated with this baby (and my husband is going to quit his job and stay home, so that makes it even more expensive).

I come from a tradition of big families (I am one of six: my mom is one of 12) but I think only children do fine. My sister is pregnant as well and she lives in the same town as I do, so this baby will grow up with cousins. I can totally understand why people would want more than one, but I don't think it's in the cards for us.

emiloots 04-17-2011 09:32 PM

We have two boys (4 & 2) with a girl on the way in June - we're done, unless there's a major oops! Still trying to decide on birth control for after this baby. Neither DH or I are getting sterilized so there's always the potential for another if we're not careful.

jitterfish 04-19-2011 04:12 AM

Sacha he is gorgeous!

Hi everyone! I'm new, lol. I expect to be in the Pregnant-Nursing area a lot!

We have two daughters, 2.5 years old and 6 months old. We would like to have probably 4 kids. 3 or 4 or 5 is what I usually say. :)

CleverName 04-19-2011 04:29 PM

Jitterfish, where in NZ are you? I lived in Cambridge for 1.5 years, in Picton for 6 weeks and Wanaka for 5 months.
We considered moving to NZ, but decided that it's just too far away from family. It is very much 'home' to my dh and I though. We love it there! :D

RJR 04-19-2011 04:42 PM

I have a 15yo DD and an almost 13yo DS. After almost ten years together my hubby and I have decided to get my tubal reversed next year so we can try to have a baby :)

I need to lose 30-40 pounds before I can get the tubal reversal surgery so I'm here for help and support with that :)

(I'm 35)

Crazy! You live where 'home' really is! I went to Capernwray Bible College in Monavale. I met my husband there and we're back in Canada. We're moving up to Whitehorse, Yukon in May- my dh grew up there, I grew up in Vancouver. The Yukon is gorgeous, we can't wait to move and set down some roots finally!

MrsMomOrtiz 04-20-2011 04:53 PM

Hello! Congrats to all the Mom's to be!

I have three children...and there will be no more! haha We made sure of that when I had a cesarean with my last baby.

Oldest - Boy, 7
Middle - Boy, 4
Youngest - Girl, 9 mths

carolr3639 04-20-2011 05:25 PM

We have ten....four girls and six boys ages 20 to 39. We have 12 grandkids with number 13 on the way in July. I used to do a lot of fasting and dieting so ended up quite overweight but since I started intuitive eating, I have lost 45lb.

lindalee9 04-20-2011 05:48 PM

I've been away from these boards for a while now.

I have one boy - 17 months old and one little girl on the way. I am due July 29.

livb528 05-09-2011 12:33 AM

I have one DD who will be turning 1 in a week (I cannot believe it!) and have one on the way. We aren't sure of our due date yet but it'll either be a Thanksgiving or Christmas baby. We want a bigger family (5 or 6 kids) but we're taking it one at a time.

Lilbert 05-09-2011 10:21 AM

One little boy - 2 1/3 and 1 little girl - 6 months. I swore after both babies I'd never have more because i have terrible pregnancies! But over the past few weeks I've found myself really wishing i could get pregnant and have another one :dizzy: I really think I'm done though. I have a nice happy little family.

Arctic Mama 05-26-2011 03:15 PM

We have a four year old daughter, two year old daughter, and seven month old son. I'm planning on having at least three more, minimum, but I'd love more than that! I'll start trying again this coming January if we haven't had a surprise pregnancy before that :)

jitterfish 06-02-2011 03:24 AM

It truly amazes me how many of you have big families. It is so rare in NZ for people to have big families like that.

aphimira 06-05-2011 12:14 PM

I'm pregnant with our first a girl due in August.

I would like a van full. Think I'll settle for 2/3 :)

jenfett 06-05-2011 12:42 PM

I have one awesome little girl, she is 6 and two weeks away from finishing kindergarten, time flies so fast. I would love nothing more than to have a whole bunch more, but hubby is dead set on just the one, makes me sad sometimes but I still have time so one never knows what will happen. I always said that as soon as I reach my goal weight and I am happy, I will get preggers and gain it all back, but if that is how it goes I will be just as happy.

Two thirds of a baby? :D

Ky30 06-07-2011 03:29 PM

I have 3 kids ( DS-11,DS-8,DD-3)
Yes I am pregnant with baby #4 (I'm only 4 weeks pregnant)
We didnt plan on a 4th but God decided to bless us with another
After baby #4 is born I'm getting my tubes tied, cut, and burnt lol

kewkew34 06-20-2011 07:43 PM

I have 6 precious blessings (19, 18, 14, 4, 3 and 14 months).
We are not sure, but think, I may be pregnant again. If so I would be due in March I believe. I have such mixed feeling about this right now as I do believe babies are blessings. I just lost 40 pounds and I am not at my healthy weight I wanted to be at before getting pregnant again. And our last was C-Section and we will have to go that route again, which is really a concern to me.
We'll see

Ekicna 06-20-2011 08:18 PM

I have two children, and I think we are done having children.

Arianwen 07-10-2011 10:16 PM

DH and I have a 5 month old son together. He has an 8 year old son from a previous marriage.

DH always wanted three children but his ex-wife vetoed more children. DH and I plan on having one more baby together, which we will TTC when our son is around 1 year old. I would wait longer but I am an old mare of 37. I'll be 38 (!) next May.

I had to have a C section with our son, my pelvic outlet was too small and he was posterior presentation. If we conceive before DS is 18 months, I'll probably automatically have another C/S.
