I just had a baby in Aug '10 and gained a god awful 60 pounds. pregnancy hated me! i worked out and watched what i ate but wasn't working out how i used to....i was used to a 1,000 calorie burn during a workout. i became very swollen etc so by the end i was down to aqua aerobics. proud to say that at nearly 2 weeks overdue i did aqua aerobics the day i was induced. needless to say, i still gained an immense amount of weight. now i want to get preggers again this summer and want to get down to at least 170. think its possible? i'm hoping! good luck ladies!

I just found this thread and I want to be a part of this group too! I am turning 30 in 2011, and I really want to have my first baby. First step- get healthy. Second step- convince husband that this is indeed a good idea. He's on the fence and scared, I think.

But let's get to a healthy weight first. If I keep up with SBD and www.loseit.com- it's saying June 20th. Anytime after that would be a perfect time to get pregnant.

For now- I'm also taking a daily pre-natal vitamin because it's good for baby growing and it's good for hair and nail growing, too.

And I'm exercising and learning all I can about babies.

Isla- it's possible, but it'll be hard work. Find a plan and stick to it. You can do it!

Hello ladies! I'm so happy to have found this forum! I'm glad we're all in this together - I felt like the only person in the world who had to lose weight to have a baby! Thanks for the inspiration!

I have 35lbs to lose ASAP since my "ok already, it's time to have a baby" switch has been flipped. I started fresh on January 3rd and have lost 6lbs so far - it's funny what eating properly and working out can do! I'm hoping to start TTC in the early spring.
GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL!

Celeste, 35 lbs is challenging, but definitely doable! Stick to the plan, eat clean, and exercise, and you'll get there!

I'd like to join, too. I most likely won't be TTC until late next year, but having the support of ladies who understand might help!

I have some surgery that I have to get before I can start trying again, and the doc won't even consider it until I'm below 200 lbs. So, as you can see, I have some work to do!

Just checking in. So nice to see new faces! I have the flu.. for the first time in a decade. Completely knocked me over... fever, chills, body aches. I have lost six pounds since Monday, just from laying around feeling crappy. Feeling terrible!

I also redid my goals. Went from the weight loss ticker to actual weight goals instead. Somehow, for me that seems more manageable than continually updating my ticker. I still check the scale daily, but I put it within the context of my bigger goals.

There's lots of encouragement in this thread. So far- in two weeks, I'm down 7lbs. The South Beach P1 is working pretty well for me. I'm going on a long run this weekend, and I'll be attending a party tomorrow. I think I'll have to be careful to stay on plan, but I'm bringing a veggie chili with me so I think I'll be satisfied with that.

Ooooh! the dreaded Saturday night party! You're smart to bring food - I always offer to bring veggie trays and other dishes that I've prepared so I know what's in them. Another strategy - I buy munchies that I don't like so I don't have to try too hard to avoid them!

Speaking of avoiding certain foods, (I don't have the will power to just have a little!) I had a victory in the staff room this morning when someone brought boxes and boxes of fresh donuts! I looked at them and actually said to myself out loud (of course I was the only person there!) "Nope, I want a baby much more than I want that tasty snack!" and I walked away. I know it's small, but it's a personal victory since I've never met a donut that I didn't like!

oooh I love it!! I want to add that line to my repertoire LOL.

Hello to all of you ladies!!

I am down 5 lbs in 10 days so I'm happy about that. Like many others I still have a LONG way to go.

There is a thread in the 'chicks up for a challenge' where we are keeping track of our weight loss for baby time, too.

It's so nice to see so many of trying to do this the 'better' way... getting healthy in order to have a healthy environment for the baby. Awesome!

So I've gained 3 lbs in the past 3 days, I hope its pre period weight. I have not started my period since I stopped taking my pill on Jan 1. I'd like to get that done with so I can start timing my cycles. Also not so happy about the 3 pounds either.
