Anyone else feel like every boy name is either bland or overused. My hubby and I cannot decide on a boy name for the life of us. I can give you a handful of girl names that we both like a ton, but boy names we just can agree. I love Jackson, Jayden, and Nolan. He loves Kayden and Christian. The middle name is James and I am strongly conteplating giving him two middle names Stephen James. Stephen is after my dad!

I have a lot of Jayden's in my school, both girls and boys, so I'm a little biased, lol! I think one of Britney Spears' kiddos is named Jayden James.

Jayden James is Britney Spears Son, that was not intentional lol. And I do feel like it's a little overused too! I dunno. I feel like any boy name I like is really popular. I love my daughters name Emma, but I know there is gonna be like 10 other Emmas in her classrooms growing up lol.

I've even thought about just going with Stephen James. You don't hear Stephen to often anymore, it's not even on the top 100, and a lot of people I have asked say they think it's very strong name.

I like Nolan a lot too, but the hubby is like it's okay, but I like Christian better. lol. I've been tempted to say lets have a few names picked out and then when he gets here and we see him, we will see what he looks like. lol.

I'm with you, I love so many girl names and am "eh" on boy names.

I dislike the whole Jayden, Braden, Kayden - just so trendy. I think 2 middle names is a little overkill, but hey YMMV.

I like classic names - David, Christopher, Matthew. I'm also partial to Ethan. I think your choice of Nolan is intriguing. I think Nolan James has a lovely flow. As a Jennifer myself, it will nice for him not to have a 100 Nolans in class with him, but it's not so unusual/hard to spell/difficult for others to pronounce to be a hardship as a little kid.

I'm lucky, my husband and I both have Roberts for dads, so Robert as a middle name is a done deal.

I gave my son a common name with a twist, Alexandre (instead of Alexander). Aside from DH being French, it's a nice touch.

Stephen is nice as well, very nice for both a kid and when he is an adult (eek!)

I like old fashioned names that aren't weird but not too common. My son's name is Nathaniel. There are a lot of Nathan's but no nathaniel's. I also like Henry, Oliver (maybe!) and Sebastian (although this might be too trendy).

It must depend on what part of the country. I have two friends with sons who are named Nathaniel.

I just had a baby girl (we didn't find out the gender) but we had such a hard time deciding on boys names... I think its usually ALOT harder to decide a boys name than a girls. Anyway if our baby would have been a boy it was going to be Sawyer. My DS's name is Seth which is also not popular but classic I think.

We are stumped on boy names as well. I came up with Ruben pretty early on and hubby and friends all say it's a sandwich:/ It's not like I picked the name BLT or Patty melt. lol

Anyway, we have settled on nothing else since. If we have a boy we'll be scrambling.

I like Sylus and Craven, very uncommon, masculine and interesting. Jeremiah, Hezekiah, and Jordan are on my list as well.

Anything that rhymes with "aiden" is trendy and overused right now.

I caved and gave my daughter two middle names for a couple of reasons:

1. it was Christmas time and I was silly

2. I was afraid I might never get a chance to name another girl

3. I couldn't decide, so my Husband compromised and we hyphenated the middle name. Its a free country and I'm glad I did it ^_^


I'm loving the Stephen James combo.

I named all my kids after my parents, his parents and grandparents. I'm personally named after two of my grandmothers and it always meant a lot to me so I did that for my kids too. The names have a some purpose and meaning that way, and you're not just jumping on the trend-boat of the current day-in-age. So all my kids have normalish-classic names, they're the only ones in their classes with the names, and they have some purpose behind them.

Boys names are harder! We aren't finding out the gender and we are all set for girls names, but we are still working on boys names. We have a few contenders, but nothing solid yet.

The problem is, DH has the most common name from the decade we were born in and my name has never been in the top 1000 (which I love.) So, we'd really like a name out of the top 1000 (according to the social security site.) Try finding a boys name out of the top 1000 that isn't bizarre! It's hard, but we'll figure it out if we have a boy.

Like the name for an adult. they will be an adult a lot longer than a kid.

More than likely the middle name will never be used other than for initals

Look at the initials they will be used a lot for all kids of things and yu don't want them to spell something or be an abriviation for something. and if they do spell something know that someone might use it as a nickname

LIKE the nick names associated with the name you pick, so Christine and Christian might all be Chris on the playground. does that matter to you...

I think Stephen James would be a great name! Family based names are wonderful traditions I think. I have many cousins who were named after dads, aunts, uncles, and even my grandparents had their pick in it. Granddad's name is Sam and I absolutely LOVE it. We have a Samuel that I love to call Sammie, and even though it's been used already, I once thought about naming my first (whenever I have one) born son Harrison Frank, but now I'm almost leaning towards Samuel Frank (after my granddad and daddy).
