July preggos!

Hey! Hope none of you mind that I'm starting a new thread!!

How was everyone's 4th? I bought fireworks and had a family cook-out--only two people from my family came, we're having a drama..... Sigh......

Anyway, the food was great and the fireworks were great. The only downfall of the evening was that Jake didn't enjoy the fireworks as much as I was hoping he would. He liked the colors allright, but the booming hurt his ears. I'll try again when he's a little older.

Everything is going well with the pregnancy. My morning sickness is almost totally gone--just a little twinge now and then.

4myloves 07-08-2009 09:06 AM

Am I the only pregnant fat chick now?

I need to see some birth announcements and BABY PICTURES!!!!!

MeganBeth 07-08-2009 12:41 PM

I'm here! I think I'm finally starting to put some of the weight i lost back on. And I've decided to try going a few days without my nightly dose of unisom to see if hte morning sickness is over with.

jasmine987 07-08-2009 02:54 PM

nope you are not alone I am definately a pregnant fat chick

4myloves 07-09-2009 09:15 AM

Whew! I was beginning to worry!

It's so funny, when I got on my hotmail account this morning I had a BIRTH ANNOUNCMENT and BABY PICTURES from one of my friends!! Maybe she was reading my mind! :)

MeganBeth 07-09-2009 11:39 AM

Unisom is definately back in. I was so sick yesterday I couldn't hardly function. Boo.

Tuca125 07-10-2009 10:11 AM

Yeah i tried those and they didn't help me much. SO glad they help you though!! The only thing that has done anything is taking unisom before bed every night.

Our names so far are:
Boys: Liam, Rhys, Zachary, Kyle
Girls: Emma, Zoey, Aeryn,

Tiffrutherf 07-10-2009 10:45 PM

Spoke too soon, Not so much with the wrist bands..I think i will try the Unisom so it helps with morning sickness? Because I cant sleep ether..

eeyoredja 07-10-2009 10:58 PM

Hi, new to posting on this forum, but not to 3fc. I am Donna, 30 yo and pregnant with my first. We are having a boy and will be naming him Tobias William, but we call him Toby. I am on hospital bedrest, and will be here for the duration of my pregnancy, which I am hoping will go full term. I have incompetent cervix and had a cerclage placed at 14 weeks, and at 23w6d, my cervix had funneled past the stitch of my cerclage! Since I have been on hospital bedrest, almost all funneling is gone and my cervical length has almost doubled, so it must be working, lol.
I hope to get to know ya'll better!!

Tiff-My morning sickness was so bad that I ended up in the hospital on Iv's, and my saving grace was Zofran, maybe something to ask your OB for.

How has everyone's weight gain been?

Hugs,
Donna

MeganBeth 07-10-2009 11:48 PM

I'd clear it with your OB or MW first but mine told me to take 1/2 of a unisom (NOT the fast melts, whatever the active ingredient is in those isn't what you want). If that didn't work she was going to put me on a B6 suppliment as well which is what a lot of my preggo friends have been taking 1/2 unisom at bed and b6 suppliments during the day.

The only thing that kept me out of the hospital is the fact that I drink A LOT of water. Everytime I'd throw up I'd force myself to drink 2-3 glasses of water, a bit obsessive maybe? I don't want to go to the hospital lol.

As for weight gain I was down a total of 12 lbs but I've gained 2 or 3 back now.

Tiffrutherf 07-11-2009 06:26 AM

Danna, are you at home or in the hospital? Hope all is going well:hug:
I'll talk to my doctor on Monday. I really thought I was past this part:?:

Megan: I also ask about the unisom, thanks again.

Like now, I'm up because there is a thunderstorm and I'm feeling like crap, not to mention I'll be chasing after 2 kids in a couple of hours. I'm praying for November to get here quickly! :tantrum:

eeyoredja 07-11-2009 11:12 AM

Tiff-I am in the hospital on bedrest. It is so boring and I hate being away from DH, but its whats best for my little guy. When they put me in here, they gave me the steroid shots for his lungs, so we know he has a better chance if he comes early.
Hope you get some relief from your m/s.

Hugs,
Donna

Tiffrutherf 07-11-2009 07:02 PM

Oh Danna, that has to be hard (I cant say what I want to say about it lol)..so what the heck do you do all day? How long have you been in there? The steroid is sure to help, and all of this will be so worth it in the end!

The good news is you don't have to cook, I'm saying this cause i just burnt the heck out of dinner!

eeyoredja 07-11-2009 07:49 PM

Tiff-I really just hang out in bed, I am allowed to sit in the recliner, but never do, I surf the web, and nap alot, lol. It sucks, but will so be worth it in the end.

Hugs,
Donna

Gale02 07-12-2009 09:35 AM

Big hugs to you Donna! I was on complete bed rest (at home) for the last 7 weeks of my pregnancy... it was rough. I watched a lot of TV series on DVD (no commercials that way) and read a lot. You'll get through it, and you're right... it's completely worth it in the end! I'd do it a million times over to have my little guy healthy, no question at all.

Tiffrutherf 07-12-2009 12:26 PM

Hi Gale, good to see you!

Donna, you know whats strange? When they are born you will wish for these days back, I know its hard to believe now:yikes:... I had a c-section with both my kids, and I could not wait to leave the hospital, I did not want to use all 3 recovery days..I was like "Get me outa here, I want to go home!":tantrum: After 2 weeks of waking up at 3am, I was begging to go back! Now with 2 of them (even though they are 6 years apart) all they do is fight. Yesterday they fought over a sock (yeah, you read right, a sock):boxing:. The 2 year old (girl) usually starts it the 8 year old (boy) usually ends it (lol). Anyways this time I will be taking ALL of my 3 days and letting my Husband do the work. I am a stay at home mom, so you can imagine how much im appreciated around here:dz:...Man, I can't wait see how they deal with out me!

eeyoredja 07-12-2009 12:40 PM

Tiff-Lol on the fighting about the sock!! I will stay at home with the baby too, and will go back to running my in home daycare in January. I just want to get thru the first few months with him and the holidays before I add more to the mix.

Hugs,
Donna

Gale02 07-12-2009 03:48 PM

Hehe... I don't wish for my bed rest days back, but I do wonder why I didn't sleep more when I had the chance!!

Tiffrutherf 07-12-2009 08:32 PM

I know, guys, I was so eager to be a Mom, no make that SUPER MOM..I was going to conquer the world! Now I use their nap times to cry :dz:(lol)...

Donna you rock for doing Day Care! I'm a teacher; I taught high school, 10-12 grade history ok, so when I said I wanted to stay home, I thought i was getting a BRAKE...What the @#!$ was I thinking:dz:?
Today I let the 2 year old have yogurt with her own bowl and spoon..She's two, so its time right? I swear she looked at me like "Ahh you foolish women, you might as well have dumped this on the floor yourself and save us both the time and trouble"..And sure enough off the tray it went and power splashed into the dishwasher full of CLEAN dishes:fr:...Yeah...about me not selling her little butt on the black market:bomb:...

MeganBeth 07-12-2009 09:13 PM

I used to teach preschool and I was so excited when we decided I would be a SAHM. Now I look back some days and ask myself what the heck was I thinking!! 10-15 kids under the age of 4 alone is SO.MUCH.EASIER than one little 2 year old!

eeyoredja 07-12-2009 11:58 PM

Tiif-I can almost picture you putting her on the porch with a sign that reads "free to a good home", like a puppy, lol!!

Dh came to see me tonight, and while he was here I was got my daily NST, he left before they took me off the monitors as he has to work in the morning. About 5 mins after he left they came in to take me off and my nurse had a syringe in her hand. I didn't think much about it til she said "your baby look great, but you're having contractions"! I didn't even feel them!! The nurse gave me a shot of terbuteline, which makes you feel like super nervous. I stayed on the monitor for a while after that and they had stopped, but they are gonna check me again in a bit. Super scary stuff!! Glad i am in the hospital where they catch stuff like this early.

Hugs,
Donna

Gale02 07-13-2009 08:34 AM

I had turbutaline when I went into early labor around 30 weeks and it made me super jumpy. I hope things calm down. Remember to try not to stress (I know, way easier said than done). Your body reacts to it and it will only make things worse. :) Let us know how things are going today if you get a chance!

4myloves 07-13-2009 10:05 AM

Wow!! The board has exploded!! Terrific!

Donna, WELCOME! I hope you're having a good day today! Not that I would EVER want anything to threaten my baby, but a week of bedrest sounds nice to me. My husband was in the hospital with a staph infection about a month ago and I was slightly jealous of the "quiet time" he was getting.

If you already have kids can they visit you in the hospital? I don't think I'd want to go very long without seeing Jake.

Tiffrutherf 07-13-2009 11:50 AM

Donna, How did it turn out? Are you ok? Your right its good that they can catch it cause your right there.
Toby sounds like cant wait to meet his Momma and Daddy, but he got to hang in there for a few more weeks! Hes just excited!

Guys,
I broke down and enrolled the 8 year old in summer school:write:. All he's been doing this summer is swimming, veggn' out on video games and eating me out of house and home. So when his school said they had a summer program I was like heck yeah:woohoo:! I'm filling out the paper work NOW:carrot:!
The two year old will be with me (if i don't get a buyer lol:dz:), shes into this naked phase. Every time i turn my back, she strips:fr:, what with that?..Anyways, I figure its easier to cart one kid around instead of two.

BTW, I have a personal trainer:drill:, I hate him:dz:. He's talking about upping my workouts:woops:..Remember the days when being pregnant or in a "delicate condition" meant just that? And they WANTED you to gain weight? No not today, now its ok to do back braking labor as long as you "use your legs to lift":sumo:! I swear every time I go to the OB's office I gotta hear "because your heaver we have to do this or that different....." uhgg give me a brake! I didn't have to do anything DIFFERENT to get in this position! Ok Im done venting:soap:

Oh if your wonder why I use so many "cartoon smiles" in my messages its for the 2 year old, she gets a big kick out of them...since she has to be present for every message I send out..

eeyoredja 07-13-2009 03:11 PM

I had my u/s this morning, Toby looks great, measures right on date, weighs 2lb 2oz, and was taking practice breaths. My cervical length did change a bit, but the perinatologist said it was probably caused by the contractions. I had a NST after the u/s, and had no contractions, so that made me feel a little better.
I think this will be a sleepy day for me, I have napped most of the day and feel like I could the rest, lol. DH won't be here today, he has tons of yard work to do.

Hugs,
Donna

Tiffrutherf 07-14-2009 05:10 PM

Go Toby!!

Im learning being pregnant in the summer is nuts! I feel like im wearing a backpack in the front of me..I cant seem to get cool enough! Doing the simplest things makes me winded...did anyone start feeling "Bigger" around your 20th week? I feel like all of the sudden I just ballooned up!

MeganBeth 07-14-2009 06:00 PM

Maybe it's pg hormones but I cried when one of the neighbor kids told my 2 year old to go the h*ll away and flipped him off when he asked her to play. Why are kids so mean?? (she was only about 4 *maaaaaaaaybe* 5 too)

and I feel HUGE already, the heat isn't helping at all either.

WOW!! What must she hear day in and day out from her parents to say something like that to another kid?? That would have upset me, too. That little one has some rough times ahead of her unless she learns to tame that tongue. :(

Tiffrutherf 07-14-2009 10:32 PM

]Megan, You don't want your kid playing with that kid anyways..I agree with Gale on this one, most likely someone said or is saying that to her..and too often for her to be repeating it. Even though it seems like mean kids are everywhere, most kids are caring and giving like your 2 year old:hug:.

Remember, as a Mom when they hurt we hurt for them twice as bad. But kids are resilient, unlike us, they get over it, forget it and move on quickly..we could really learn from them at times![/QUOTE]

MeganBeth 07-14-2009 11:39 PM

Yeah it just sucks big time. I've never seen him so heartbroken. :( I wish there were kids here for him to play with but there really aren't . I think she was the youngest one the older kids either bowl him over or just ignore him.

Tiffrutherf 07-15-2009 07:50 AM

I was kinda in the same situation with my son, having no one to play with when he was around 2. I called my local school district and found out that there are play groups as early as age 2 that you can enroll them in. Now i was the clingy' type of parent and did not want to let him go, but he loved it.

For my son it was more of a issue that he was not talking or not responding to us when we called. He was diagnosed with autism, but we caught it early so he adjusting fine..cant get him to be quite now!

Anyways, with my 2 year old I am enrolling her in head start, she's fine hitting all her milestones, shes very social! Paying for daycare would be foolish when head start is free for ANYONE regardless of income (Meany people believe it's for low income, not true). Also the kids in your neighborhood go to your local head start, so my son went with 5 of his present classmates..It was cool!

lovinlifex2 07-16-2009 02:03 PM

Hi ladies...

I am still here. I just have been feeling kinda down. I am so nauseous all the time and tired, I feel like I am not getting to enjoy Johanthon as much as I would like. I am only 10 weeks, but feel like I have been pregnant forever. I know I only had a 3 month break, but I just feel so big and blah. I am hoping it will pass once I get to the second trimester and I start to feel better.

I hope that everyone is feeling well and babies are all doing well.

Tiffrutherf 07-16-2009 06:22 PM

I remember that feeling lovinlife, but it does get better. When I was 10 weeks I thought i was going to die...but around week 15 it eased up slowly, now I just feel big but not too sick.

motiv8me 07-17-2009 01:05 AM

Hang in there lovinlifex2. I was sick all the way up until my 13th week and all of the sudden i woke up one day feeling a little more normal.

MeganBeth 07-17-2009 11:26 AM

I have my big u/s this afternooon! I can't wait!

Gale02 07-17-2009 12:20 PM

lovinlife, you are one awesomely strong woman. I know that this baby was a big surprise, but you're handling it with such grace. Keep on hanging in there, you'll start feeling better soon!

Gale02 07-17-2009 12:20 PM

MeganBeth, Let us know what the u/s shows! Any preference on boy or girl?

MeganBeth 07-17-2009 12:23 PM

I would love to have a little pink in my life but I'll be happy either way. If it is a girl it will be the first one in DH's family on his dads side for like 3-4 generations lol
