You're absolutely justified! Did you tell the lady scheduling you that your Dr specifically said she wanted to see you in 2 weeks? They should absolutely be able to accommodate that.

How is everyone doing? This thread has been a little dormant the last week or so. I'm doing pretty good, hanging in there. I haven't slept all that well this last week or so, my hip joints are starting to loosen quite a bit and therefore I can't stay on one side for long at night. Part and parcel, I suppose.

I got my Fuzzi Bunz (www.fuzzibunz.com) in the mail today, they are just the cutest things ever! That not being a factor, I'm glad DH and I decided to do cloth diapers. I don't think they're going to be MUCH more work than disposables and I think there's lots of benefits.

I hope everyone is doing well and everything is proceeding without excitement!

Congrats modkittn!! Welcome to the preggo group!

Why I have been MIA is that I had my baby!! I actually ended up going in on the 22nd instead of the 27th because of a scheduling thing with the OB. It was a good thing too because my blood pressure was climbing and during my c-section the OB discovered that my baby had a knot in the umbilical cord. It was a lucky thing we went in early because who knows what could have happened.

I had a baby girl, 7 lbs 6 oz, we named her Claire Cathleen. She is the sweetest thing!!! She is such a good baby too, sleeps pretty good, already sleeping about 4-5 hours at night which is such a blessing. I am pumping my breast milk because we had some confusion even though she latched on well. It is okay though because I was having so much pain with it the first couple of days, it was just agony. I am pumping now but going to see a lactation consultant about working on getting her back to breast feeding. It is nice to see exactly how much she is taking but in the long run I don't want to keep buying formula because no matter how much I pump I won't keep up my milk supply to what she needs and the pumping takes up a couple of hours a day that I could use for sleeping!! I am recovering from the c-section okay, just takes time. I forget and overdo things once in awhile but my body quickly reminds me to take it easy. Good news though, I have already lost over half of the weight I gained. It is easy right now because I gained so much fluid, hopefully I lose it all as fast as I did with my first baby (all of my pregnancy weight in 3 weeks after the birth).

I am doing cloth diapers as well, I have the bum genius brand but I can't use them yet as she is still a tiny bit too small for them. Will have to wait on those for a few more weeks until she gains a bit more weight. I think cloth diapering is a bit out of the mainstream but if people knew how dead easy it is now, they are just about the same as disposibles now, they have these all in ones that are exactly the same as disposibles, you just wash them instead of tossing them out. The savings is unreal. There is a web site www.diaperpin.com where you can figure out how much money you will save over 2 years using cloth over disposibles even factoring in energy using to wash and dry them. And if you take good care of them you can always sell them afterwards and the market is great to resell them.

Jen - Congratulations on your baby girl! You are so lucky to have the chance to breastfeed. I won't be able to. I will have to go back on my medication right after giving birth and can't be breastfeeding while I am on it.

Gale - Yes I did tell the nurse who scheduled the appointment and she said there was nothing she could do. That is why I left a message for the doctor.

I thought about cloth diapers, but honestly - my DH is going to be a stay at home dad. Since he will be spending more time with the diapers, I am going to leave it up to him to chose (although I am going to tell him that I prefer cloth).

Not much new with me. Some days I feel normal, and other days I'm horribly bloated and my stomach is distended and I don't even fit into my pants because of it! I don't think thtat the pregnancy and my IBS are going well with each other, unless every pregnant women has that many problems this early on? I tried going out and getting one of theose Bella Bands for the days when that happens, but they didn't have any in the size I needed. So I ended up just digging out some clothes from the basement that were 1 size larger. I'm just shocked that I haven't had to keep telling myself that its not because I gained weight

Tell your husband that the all in one cloth diapers are exactly the same as disposibles, he won't have to do one more thing in putting them on. If he puts a disposible liner in to catch the poop he won't even have to rinse them out, the liner goes into the toilet, it is biodegradible!

Jen...we had a lot of confusion and difficulty at first with my oldest because my mom gave him a pacifier without asking  and that got him all screwed up. The thing that saved me was a nipple shield. You might ask for one. I made them give me one the day I delivered my second and was glad I did. He was NOT a good eater and we were having to switch between bottle (pumped) and nursing and without the shield I'd have had to give up on nursing altogether. There is also the supplemental nursing system (you wear a bottle of milk around your neck and essentially a thin tube gets taped to your breast so you know they'll be getting something even when they aren't effective at nursing), but the shield was so much easier.

Jen- Congratulations!!! I am sure it feels soo good to hold your baby in your arms!

I just got back from the OB. She wasn't too impressed that my baby had dropped over the weekend and I am feeling alot of pelvic pressure. Business as usual for her, I guess. :D She told me I was okay to be on a light duty but still working, sit as much as I could. I put a call into the nursing office today to see if they needed me. Hospital census is still low. So, I guess we will see if I am to work today or not! I haven't worked in 2 weeks since the low census.

Plugging along today...determined to stay pregnant. So far no bedrest or medication for me this pregnancy. I am superexcited about that!!!:carrot:
