Cool hypoglycemic?

I recently passed out and it was blamed on low blood sugar, it was 82, is low blood sugar relative to your normal reading? Everything online says low is 60 or below. I'm worried about insulin resistance because my sis was dx'd with pcos last year. I've lost about 20-30 lbs in the last year or so becuase an uncle has diabetes II, so weight is not really an issue anymore. I'm maybe 10lbs over what wieght charts suggest (160lbs at 5'6 or 7"). So, I guess does anyone know if 82 can be considered low? Any other info on that type of stuff is good to.

Better check this out with your doctor. To me it is not all that low - my morning readings are that low sometimes but it may be low for you. See your physician for proper bloodwork.

I would agree with Ruth. Who checked your blood? Your doctor can run tests on you to see how low your sugar drops and how your insulin response is.

911 was called and a paramedic checked my blood. Since I hadn't had breakfast and it 11am, they figured it was just the sugar thing because I normally eat every few hours. I drank some juice and about 1/2 hr later my uncle checked my levels with his tester and I was at 100 and feeling better. I ate shortly after and had some soda and other then a headache was ok. I haven't had any incidents since.

I hope it was an isolated incident for you. Have you got a doctor you can see about follow up testing?
