Hello! I'm new, but am hoping to meet some other woman with PCOS. I also have IR. Guess I'll start by answering your questions
How are you?
Excited and down 16 pounds!
What are you working on?
Not eating later than 7 pm
How was last month?
Not bad, but this month is the one when I decided to put all of this knowledge and planning into action, so this month is MUCH better!
How's your PCOS management going?
I"m just starting out, but it's getting better all the time!
I lived through yesterday. I seriously wanted to die.
My weight this morning? 160.8 lbs.
Unbelievable. All of that is just water, of course. I'm feeling much better, though. Rehydrating. Eating crackers. Avoiding the bathroom. I've been drinking ginger ale and water all day and I haven't had to go to the bathroom. Talk about rehydration!!!!
I'm exhausted! Dad had another flip out, so I was over there dealing with the eldercare crazy. I haven't yet found the balance and realistically? It's going to take a while to figure out how to best support my mom and deal with dad's health problems.
I get restless though -- I can't keep putting off my OWN health needs while coping with the eldercare stuff. I also have a household and family of my own over here to run -- I can't be shuttling over there every minute my mom calls to tell me dad's having a cow. We need to find better long term solutions... this is wearing me out.
I'm worried about weight creeping up, I'm not making it to the gym like I want... just argh. So baby steps again -- tidy the kitchen, make some meals ahead, just try to hang in there and maintain some space of my own.
Friends and DH are being supportive and looking out for me with the whole "caregiver burn out" thing.
At least I'm not falling into old bad emotional eating habits from the stress because I am stressed!
I'm worried my PCOS has kicked in again =( I haven't had a period in about 4-5 months. I took evening primrose oil again for a month or two and nothing happened. I went to my doctor and he said he wouldn't give me a scan to see if I'd developed more cysts or anything. I haven't missed a period for this long in 4 years. And I'm definitely not pregnant. What should I do? I was considering going on the pill but I'm worried it might effect my candida.
Flamethrower: A Provera "reboot?" I find it strange doc didn't bring it up.
Do you prefer alternative medicine? What about drinking some parsley tea or some other mild emmenogogue?
How old are you? Are you close to menopause time? That too can cause period wackies. Do you chart? www.tcoyf.com can help let you know if you have ovulated and when to expect a period.

HTH!
A.
Not even close, I'm 19 xD
I came on my period yesterday thankfully, but I literally feel like I need to cry every five minutes, which isn't normal for me. Oh well, at least it happened at all.
I can only use my phone for Internet right now but I'll have a look at your link when I have my computer back, thanks
Hey everyone! I survived my sickness, lost the weight and I'm sure by now I've gained it back, but I don't know yet.
I'm traveling and I won't know until I get back next week. I just wanted to check in and say that all is good and I'm trying to eat healthy while traveling, which is always hard.
Britney.. I'm new this month to this particular forum!
How are you?
A little overwhelmed since I am new to this.
What are you working on?
Well I am working on finding a way to manage PCOS. I'm in the process of a lot of medical changes. I found a new doctor who is supportive of the PCOS and IR diagnosis that I got from my OB gyn. My new pcp dr has put me on metformin. My last doctor made the diagnosis of PCOS seem irrevelant and I am finding that PCOS actually impacts a lot of things and can cause lots of things. So I am working on educating myself essentially this month since I did not know PCOS was a lifetime condition that would have to be managed.
How was last month?
Not good. But this month will be better!
How's your PCOS management going?
We will have to see since I've just started this past week. I've got several books on order from Amazon.com so I can start educating myself. I'd like to do this as naturally as possible. Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Have a nice day!

How are you?
Eh, i'll live. better than I have been for a long time, but still a long way to go.
What are you working on?
Getting more excercise, returning to a job I hate, but refuse to leave until I can find a new job. :S
How was last month?
Wasn't too bad, had a doc's checkup, and i've lost 2.5kg in a month, which just dosen't happen to me, but also had my car blow up. :S
Oh well, means i've got no choice but to walk everywhere now! Just wish it wasn't heading into winter here!
How's your PCOS management going?
It's going OK, stuck to my supplements and herbal medication (for my PCOS & IR) pretty well, with only a few unavoidable/unexpected blowouts.
Still hanging in there with the eldercare biz. Sooooo tired!
I know I'll be more vocal here once this dad stuff is in a better place. But know even though I'm quiet because I don't have a lot of time to write I'm still reading! You guys keep kickin' PCOS butt!
It helps me to remember that I need to take care of me too... not get all sucked up with my dad's health stuff. So I'll keep kickin' PCOS butt with y'all!
