Question about ovulation
I have thyroid disease (hypo) as well as insulin resistance due to possible PCOS, though no masses were ever found on the ovaries. My GYN said that PCOS could still be possible without cystic ovaries. My cycles are still not completely normal, but more normal than they have ever been. Sometime in the teen years/early twenties I would go for six months at a time without having a period. Now I think the longest I have been lately is about 45 days or so.
My Internal Med. doctor did the testing numerous times and concluded that I wasn't ovulating, yet I am not menopausal. I do have 3 children (5, 8 and 14)and I am 34. I really don't think I want to get pregnant again. I have just gotten my thyroid levels at a good balance and just don't want to go through the pain of everything being thrown off again.
So I was just wondering... has anyone else here ever been told they weren't ovulating? Are there any dangers to not ovulating (aside from the inability to get pregnant) so long as there is a period, albeit erratic?
