Default Syndrome X?

I know there are lots of different metabolic disorders, including diabetes. Maybe they were talking about something I've heard about a lot recently, called Metabolic Syndrome X. I think it's just a term for a group of conditions/symptoms that is becoming really common in today's sedentary, junk food lifestyle. It just basically means that you have high blood pressure, bad cholesterol levels, and insulin resistance, and have excess fat in your belly area. From what I've read, you should eat a "Mediterranean" diet, exercise at least 4-5 days a week, and basically just have a healthier lifestyle. You can also take medications to lower blood pressure or help with insulin resistance. Hope this helps!
