Default Spironolactone?

I've been taking spironolactone for years with no difference- 25 mg, I'm thinking of asking my doctor for a higher dosage- but just curious what the average dosage is for people here and does it help? I mean I'm 26 and taking all these medications that I really feel aren't making a difference at all!

My friend is on 500 mg metformin and has lost a ton of weight not changing ANYTHING in her diet- while I'm on 1000 mg working hard, dieting, working out at least 3x a week, with slow results

Any info is a great help- thanks. And yes I did have my tests done before being put on both medications.

I am on 100mg of spiro. I also take 1000mg of met everyday. So far, I haven't seen any results. I have only been on the spiro for 2 wks.

I've been on both for at least a year- no change

I mean to me it's like WHAT am I supposed to feel? I still feel tired after meals, I still struggle to lose weight, and so on.

I'm on 200 spiro.
Changes in hirsutism take place over many months.

Yeah I understand that- but when you have been taking it for over a year with little to no difference it's like yeah maybe I need a higher dosage. I'm going to ask her to up it to 100 mg and see if she can double my metformin but give me slow release tablets.

Thanks- definitely now since I have good insurance I'm going to make my follow up appointments. I think I'll ask if I can have my dosage upp'd then come back for some follow up blood tests.

Spiro 50 mgs twice a day since 2003. I only have to shave once a week because of light stubble.
