Ya..there was this one chick I used to be friends with who has PCOS and she lost a TON of weight!!! So its like..it could happen. But I'm actually happy at my size. I just need to start eating right again. Once dh comes home, the stress will be gone and I can start to relax and get back on track again.

I'm gonna have to try the Pringles Stix. Do they have salt & vinager?? I have a major addiction to those type of chips, lol.

I like the kitties, lol. And I love your siggy too!!!

Ya but what I was saying was Kate was already thin and diagnosed with PCOS. So the myth that its only heavy women that have it definitely is untrue. It can't be all about the weight then. Glad you are happy with your weight, cuz I'm not with mine, but oh well. lol. Its my problem..........ha ha

No they only have Vanilla, Crunchy Wheat, Pizza and Honey Butter, at least for now. Maybe they will later on. I like salt & vinegar chips too. But of course they are packed with Sodium so...........ya know.........everything we like is bad for us it seems. lol.

Have a Good Day!

I wonder if there are any success stories of women losing a lot of weight with PCOS? I've googled it, and found nothing. I really want to be skinny. That's my goal. I won't be happy as a size 10. I want to go all the way, but sometimes it seems impossible. I want to see other women who have done it! Wouldn't you all like to see that, too?

A friend of mine had gastric bypass and lost weight and got pregnant. Me? Yes I would like to walk in "onederland" again. But if I don't hit a certain #, as long as I am healthy, that will be fine with me. My mom is very small, always has been and so is my biological father. I got screwed in that gene pool. lol. Guess I got most of my grandmothers genes instead of my parents. They also both have naturally wavy hair and mine is poker straight. I would think I was adopted if it wasn't for my father's eyes that I have. lol. Now watch DH and my child (IF we ever have one) will be thin as a rail. lol. That would be funny in a way, because we are both "larger" people.

Weightloss can be a very good benefit in your "battle" with PCOS. Just as long as it is done healthily. Soulcysters is a great site to go too for info. Here is something on weightloss:

That girl I knew was about 275 or something..and she lost a LOT of weight. I dunno how much she is now..but I saw her at Walmart, and she looked so skinny!!!

You know what?? I was looking at old pics of myself..and I've never been totally boney before. Seriously..my collar bone has never stuck out. I've always had a little belly. Then as I got older and started to fill out more, I could see the curves. I just kinda exploded after a certain age, lol. My mom was skinny growing up..she did gain some weight becuz of the meds she was taking. But she lost it all when she was taking chemo. I wonder if I got some of my father's genes. Hmm..I wonder why that thought has never popped in my head before. Can you get PCOS from the father's side of the fam? None of the females on my mom's side have it. Oh well..cant ask him now cuz I dont know where he is, lol.

Good morning, ladies! It's Friday!!! We are all going to stay OP this weekend, right? (with maybe a little treat at some point?)

I'm planning on riding a few times this weekend, and strength training, and hopefully also some running. I don't see my DBF this weekend, so at least I know there won't be temptations! Now next week I'm visiting him in Pittsburgh Thursday-Sunday, and will make every effort to stay OP, with NO overeating. He's very good about not tempting me, but when I see him eating something, I always want a bite, then another bite, then half of it... etc! Lol. Everyone's Friday going well?

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a good weekend! I was outdoors most of the weekend, and look pretty freakish today, lol. Saturday night I was eaten alive by mosquitos at a backyard party, so I've got red bumps all over my arms (gawd, they are HUGE, even today. Must have been super-mutated Hulk mosquitos), and yesterday I baked on a lake beach from 1:30-4. It all felt great, and I've got major tanning going on.

But the thing is I couldn't wear my bathing suit yesterday because when I put it on I discovered my excessive hair growth has progressed to places I really can't reach with a razor, like upper back thighs!!! I was mortified! This must have happened since I stopped BC 6 months ago. BC completely stopped all my excess hair growth. I really need to get it waxed or something. Anyone ever get body waxes? I'm really considering it. I can't shave my whole body from the waist down every single time I want to go swimming. Ugh. I'm hoping the Insulite will help with that, too, but that may take months to get that excessive hair to go away.

Let's all get full body waxes this week, lol. I want it GONE!

So on a better note, I was in Whole Foods yesterday and found sprouted Ezekiel brand bagels!! I was so excited! They are low in carbs and high in protein, and contain no wheat, just sprouted seeds and spelt. I'm so excited to have a bagel again.

I've done waxing before. But it was more of the Brazilian kind, lol. I've never had my legs waxed though. I tried to do it myself once..but it didnt work right. You could always get one of those hair remover creams. Those work really well!!

Hi chickies! I think a monthly thread is a great idea. And I swear I'll stay regular! I think we can get this little corner up to a healthy sized support group! Not that I don't love the ones here but more would be great, too.

As far as skinny PCOS'ers go - Victoria Beckham. The ultimate skinny Cyster!

I just saw a dietitian last week and she went over a course of supplements for me to take. She gave me a chromium supplement. I haven't started it yet because I'm first trying to get adjusted to some natural BP medicine (I came off of prescription last week, so far so good). I might try the chromium today.

It is a chelated chromium that is a nicotinate, not a piccolinate. The chromium piccolinate is not as effective, nor as safe as the nicotinate. She said it doesn't work for everybody, but it does help many IR folks. This chelated version is also more potent, so where the piccolinate would have been prescribed 800-1000 mgs, the nicotinate is generally 300-600 mg.
I'll let you know how it goes!

I'm also taking a load of fish oil, calcium and Vitamin D. And I am still taking Milk Thistle for better liver function.

My knee has had me down for about a month now, but I've managed to start WATP and that is doable! It's the first exercise I've done since I twisted my knee. I was so hopeful for great June results with all the summer food. I imagined myself eating all these great fruits and veggies and being all sporty. Maybe July!

Good morning ladies!
I had a total shock (good) this morning! We have monthly small group meetings at my office, about 7-8 of us with my manager. Well, for the last 2 years I've been here, the meetings were always accompanied by a box of doughnuts, bagels, or Philly soft pretzels, brought in by my manager. I have NEVER once taken anything, and simply ignore that it's there.

Well this morning my manager walks in with a tray of individual fruit salads! I was stunned. We could each take a salad which was seriously like 2 cups of chopped fruit- watermelon, oranges, honeydew, canteloupe, grapes, pineapple, strawberries and bananas. I mean, these are like elaborate fruit salads from a stand down the street, usually about $3 each. I grabbed one and dug in. FINALLY the world is changing. Maybe my manager is trying to be healthier herself, or she wants to offer healthier options. I am really the only one in the group who eats healthy, and the only one that doesn't take one of the treats she usually brings in. I hope this is a permenant change Hopefully offices will start putting out fruit, veggies, lean protein snacks, instead of boxes of bagels or doughnuts. I work in Philly so someone is always getting a box of 30 soft pretzels (for like $5) and setting it in the snack room. And people eat them... every single day.

We, who are on a quest to be healthier, are changing the world! Way to go, ladies!

Michelle, I commend you for losing weight in Philly. OH WOW, I went there a little over two years ago to meet up with a bunch of the moderators, and I never saw so much food in my life. We stayed at Loews, right across from Reading Terminal Mkt. It was really difficult. Good thing I was with 3FC chicks, because I wasn't going to give in to very bad things with an audience!

And I took the Chromium Synergy for the first time today. No heart palpitations or that other good stuff. Whew. Now let's hope it works.
