That's great! I'm still waiting for mine to regulate - guess I haven't reached that magic number yet.

Mine are regular... BCP do wonders

Although I did enjoy the days where I had one a year, if that.

Oh I am a good example of "we do have a magic number"!!! Years ago when I reached 280 and kept going my cycles went crazy..they were like every 57 days and horrible. When I got down to 265 they went right back to normal..like every 25-31 days! I have been consistent for six months now!! I also noticed that the cramps are more stronger now and the signs that lead up to AF are very noticable.

Maybe the magic number has something to do with height also? The only other thing I changed is I began to hill walk consistency..but I stopped that in Nov. when it became cold..and Jan. I had a crazy 25 day cycle??

Now..if I can get on down to 199..Just maybe my BABY dream will become a reality!!!!! Please God.

I totally understand....I also get a period about every 4 to 6 months and if I do get one it is very light. 3 days after I started eating right and excersising and took out a lot of carbs from my diet my period started. Not only did it start but it is flowing very heavily. I hope that my body is cleaning itself out.

Congrats, hope they keep on coming!!

It's so good to hear that others have experienced this too. It's just so motivating to have my body finally regulating itself somewhat. I stopped BC back last March. For a while the pills were still wearing off, but then all of a sudden my period just stopped. And the last time I'd had a period was July/August so this is just great So so silly!

Not silly at all!! I was so excited when I got my first one after six months in dEcember. Even more excited when 28 days later I got my second one!! Congrats to everyone. This gives me more encouragement to keep eating and excersing because I see that its helping!

Talking

I thought I would hijack your thread…. I’ve had PCOS since my teens was DX in 2005.

My periods where pretty much non existent I was lucky if I saw one every two years…

As recorded she arrived in February 2007 and disappeared again till December 2007, and low and behold 34 days later turned up again! I feel almost normal… I am guessing the weight loss has kicked started my hormones. Only downside is you forget how bad the cramping gets!!! *sigh* you can’t win them all can you!

Can I have some chocolate in celebration?

As long as I am on my Metformin, my period comes regularly. Is that not common? I am not sure what is normal for PCOSers. I have noticed that since losing weight, my cramps were worse.

Hi Everyone! (Sorry to bug the thread, I'm new!)

Yay for periods too! Especially ones that don't come every 14 days.. and then decide to disappear for months on end... and then come back as the red tsunami.

MSTeacher - Me too! Since I've lost weight, I've noticed that my cramps are worse, but the duration of the red tide is much shorter. I guess instead of nearly a week of nastiest, I have two days of pretty heavy flow, one day medium, and then the rest rather light. (Maybe... *gasp* a normal period!)

One of the nice things that I've noticed too, is that those evil chin hairs are needing to be plucked less often. They are there - but they've slowed down the growth a bit. Still have the nasty cystic acne that seems to poke it's head around about a week or so before the period, but I'm fighting that with Basis soap and calamine to dry it up...
