TOM is back!!

  • Hey All!!

I didnt want to say anything until I was completely sure but...TOM is back!
About a year ago I stop taking birth control and Metformin because I wasnt being consistent with it. I would forget and skip a day or two and then try to start back so eventually I just stop taking it.

After losing this weight I have had a a cycle for the last 3-4 months. I am not sure if it is the same time each month BUT it is pretty close because I have noticed that I start my cycle around the same time as another coworker...so I know it isnt very irregular and I dont have a heavy or light cycle but one I would think is considered normal.

I have decided to go back to my Endo in another month or two and see if he would want me to try the birth control or Metformin again....even though I have done so well without it. I have not seen the Dr for about two years...What do you guys think?? I mean I've done well without the meds...would I still need them?

Is it normal for a person's cycle to come back (or other symptoms to lessen) after losing 100 pounds?? I still have facial hair but not as much. I am still going to do the laser hair removal....or an epilator....

Anywho, I thought I would share the news!!
  • GOOD FOR YOU !!!!! From what I understand it is TOTALLY normal for your cycles to regulate after losing weight. Weight loss is one of the BIGGEST recommendations for women with PCOS. I was hoping mine would restart (it's been 10 years or more) - but sadly my endo thinks I had POF in my early thirties. Funny how you miss the darn thing when you don't get it !! Keep up the great work and congrats !!!!
  • Wow thats so great congrats!! Im hoping mine will come back after another 10 pds or so!! I guess the best way to answer your question is to go to the doc and explain how ur great work has paid off and ask if you still need the meds. I would think not just because kicking off 100 pds and getting TOM back would set u on the right path. Good luck. Thanks for sharing
