I joined an online OA group for Moms. It didn't mention sponsors though... I was wondering how you get one?? I think the daily accountability is something I need.
I am not sure where you live or if there are any face to face meetings. If there are that is a good place to talk to others and find a sponsor. A sponsor is someont that helps you with a food plan and someone that can guide you through the 12 steps.

I just got my Sponsor and she is wonderful. We speak everyday and she goes over my food plan and gives me assignments from the workbook. We start every discussion with the Serenity Prayer. It is hard work but it is laying the foundation for my recovery.

Well done on making the commitment to join OA. Being part of a fellowship is the only thing that works for me - and I'm so grateful I know that, just for today! I need to keep being reminded of that because I have a history of 'trying to sort myself out' as far as food is concerned. It doesn't work. OA works, when I work it! Right now, I'm savouring peace of mind which has been missing for so long. I've stopped obsessing about the scales and have started to focus on wholesome healthy eating and it's wonderful - I'm in tune with how I feel rather than how I look. I'll be having a weigh in once a month - I'm 22 days abstinent now.
I'm just wondering if your online OA group has a sponsorship section - I know 'The Recovery Group' has a sponsorship section - can be a bit tricky to negotiate from my PC but you may have better luck.
While you're waiting to get a sponsor, keep posting here so that you have the support of the group - either in general terms or with specific queries as they arise.
