so....leptin is the hormone stored in fat so the fatter you are, the more you have. Leptin is the reason why we lose weight and our appetite increases...our body starts thinking we must be needing to eat more because we have fat and therefore less leptin.

I looked over this diet and it's nothing too special-the food recommendations are similar to a diabetic diet. I think it's a way to sell supplements/products, because the diet itself doesn't look too far from what I am doing now and unfortunately I am not losing weight at breakneck speed LOL

Take my opinion with a grain of salt because I am always skeptical of stuff like that.

Thanks Dairy Fairy... I noticed that too, the different products for sale... thankfully, I'm not tempted by that... I did like the amount of info about leptin & the conditions that hamper weight loss... as with you, the diet itself is pretty close to what I've done before... I think I'll try doing the jump-start & see if it works to give me back my awareness of fullness signals...

Hugs.....

I stumbled onto the diet when I was a newly diagnosed diabetic, and had great success with blood sugar and weight loss. I never buy into anyone's supplements or special foods. The fact that those products exist have nothing to do with the credibility and effectiveness of the Leptin diet. Think about Atkins bars, shakes, etc. The diet works without all that stuff.

The Leptin guidelines work well if you do them consistently. Whether you lose fast or slow is an individual thing, but they do work.

I think the science is sound. You don't need supplements. Boost your leptin sensitivity by eating a lot of fish. You will get all the benefits and more without the cost.

Job done.
