Default Grapeseed, walnut and flax oils

Does anyone use these oils for cooking or salad dressing? I have been reading a lot about the benefits of these 3, but haven't tried them out (except grapeseed for massage and as a bath oil--it's great!).

Thanks.

For the past few days I have been trying to locate flaxseed oil. I have read tons about the health benefits of it and I know in the past I have seen posts where people add it to salads and other things because apparently it tastes slightly nutty or buttery. I haven't been able to find any though, just the soft gel capsules.

I was just reading something the other day I *think* about not using flaxseed oil to cook with because it damages the good stuff in it.

Flax seed oil can be found in health food stores, Trader Joes and Whole Foods market.
I don't know anything about the others, I'm way too cheap to attempt to use them.

USING FLAX OIL
Don't use flax oil for cooking. Oils high in essential fatty acids are not good for cooking... Add flax oil to foods after cooking and just before serving.

Flax has many virtues, but it also has one vice: it turns rancid quickly...To prevent spoilage, follow these tips:

Purchase only refrigerated flax oil stored in black containers.

Keep your flax oil in the refrigerator with the lid on tight. Minimize exposure to heat, light, and air.

Because the oil is likely to turn rancid within six weeks of pressing, buy flax oil in smaller containers (8-12 ounces, depending on how fast you use it).

I keep flax oil in the fridge and keep the ground seeds in the freezer. I've never used it in salad dressings but do use walnut and grapeseed oils.

For walnut and grapeseed oils in dressings, do you just use them as if they were olive oil? Make a vinaigrette, etc?

Thanks for the tips!

I use flaxseed oil in salad dressings, home-made mayo, dips, roasted red pepper sauce, and in my smoothies, FSO is an acquired taste, so I recommend you start with Spectrum's brand - it's the lightest tasting.

Flax oil is said to help weight loss but it isn't proven I guess. One thing is true is that trainers give it often to the people they train when they have to like build up rapidly. It helps to regenarate muscle or something like that, its good for that. Hilary Swank used it for her training of the movie one million dollars baby. I can't tell you more about it but look on the Internet and you will find something.
