Default Protein Shakes

I've read a few posts on questions in regards to these powders, I'm just wondering exactly how they are used as part of your weight loss plans? Are they replacing 2 meals of your day? What is the reason for drinking them, how does it help with weight loss?

I drink protein shakes to aid in muscle recovery after weight training and exercise. I don't use them as a meal replacement, as the ones I use are protein only, and aren't meant to be a meal replacement. The powder I use is 85 calories per scoop + 60 calories for the fat free milk I use. I just build it in as one of my snacks.

I don't use them for weight loss per see. If I didn't do so much exercise I wouldn't have protein shakes, if that makes sense!!!

I don't use powder, but my boyfriend does. He's lifting weights, and has a creatine and some other powder mixed together. Helps his muscles recover...I think! lol

I have whey protein smoothies every day. They are not a meal replacement for me, but a snack. And a veddy VEDDY tasty snack they are, too!

Since I'm trying to lose weight thru healthy eating, cardio and weight training, I find the protein powder shakes very helpful in increasing my protein amounts. It is very hard to 'eat' 30-40% of you're daily food intake. If I whip up a protein shake, I'm getting in 22gr of protein without feeling like I'm eating lean chicken all day. I buy a huge container (which lasts a long time and is very economical) and either blend it with milk or milk/fruit. 1C of milk with protein powder whips up into almost a 3C milkshake. Yum yum.....
