Thanks Mel I do understand as I was on the Atkins program and just recently decided to pick it up again because I don't like my numbers. I think what I'll have to do is get up extra early to have breakfast because I just don't have the time in the mornings..so would fruit be a bad start or should I do cereal or bacon, sausage...? Being on Atkins that leaves out the hash browns grits and oatmeal and I LOATHE eggs... what about tapioca pudding, cottage cheese or yogurt??

Gigi -- If you're following Atkins I have no idea what to tell you, hopefully someone will come along to help in that regards, or you could ask the question in the Atkins forum of 3FC...

Mel -- Those were very informative posts!

Tampagirl -- I also eat every 2-3 hours and 5 meals/day ... at every meal I have a portion of carbs and a portion of protein. If I'm hungry at 4PM near supper time, I will not wait till 5:30 to eat supper... I will have something like cottage cheese and strawberries, otherwise I am just setting myself up to pig out at supper, or worse as I am preparing supper. Eat more often and eat whole dense foods avoid processed foods. I also eat ginormous bowls of salad...

Thank you everyone for your suggestions....I do drink tons of water. At least 4 oz every hour and 1/2. I only drink water during the week because I really don't want to get my calories from liquid like someone else said. I'm going to try the 2-3 hour eating thing. I think that would help me. I would eat more calories than 1300-1500 per day, but I only get to go to the gym 3 times a week at most and i spend about an hour there. If I knew I worked it everyday, I would definately eat more!!! I also sit behind a desk all day and chat with all of you, so I'm not moving as much as I'd like.

SusanB- I'm at the point where maintaining my weight is what I'm trying to do. I'm 5'4, 125. I would like to drop 5 pounds because I fluctuate between 125 and 130 so much I would rather fluctuate between 120 and 125. Everything I eat goes straight to my thighs. That is my problem area... I can't seem to tone them out as much as I work on them or diet.

Thanks again ladies...going to fill up on oatmeal!

I don't understand that statement. Water has no calories and you cannot gain weight from drinking too much of it.

Ilene - i believe that what tampagirl is saying is that she drinks only water, rather than soda, coffee, milk, or any beverage with calories.

I do the same thing. The only beverage I drink during the week is water (sometimes a diet coke). On the weekend, in addition to water, i might have a glass of o.j., or a couple of beers, etc.

Yes fishwoman-That is what I meant. i would rather get my calories from food than waste them on drinks with cals that don't fill me up. I love my food!
