Kim -- yum, those pretzels sounds dangerously delicious!

Stitches -- Hope you're having luck getting back on track. We all fall off, right?? Just brush yourself off and keep walking!!

Things for me have been fine. My scale read 129 this morning :D
I hope it stays there for the next few days, then I'll believe it. It is getting really chilly around here, but I suppose I can't complain, as we've been dealing with absolutely miraculous weather for the most part. Fall has finally decided to make its appearance, and I can't say I blame it.
AND, my financial aid check finally arrived, twice as big as I expected, and so I am GOING SHOPPING! Finally, maybe some clothes that will fit! So excited.

Have wonderful days, all!

S

lizzy Shopping :carrot: Have fun :carrot:

modkittn 10-20-2008 08:18 AM

Well I got LOTS of maternity AND baby clothes this weekend from my friend that I went to visit. It was great!

When I got home last night, DH and I got into a fight. Admittedly, it was all my fault. I was so overtired that when I got home I tried to sleep but I couldn't. AND my emotions have been crazy lately. It was pretty bad!

Kim - :bravo: on the loss!

institches - Way to go on going to your meeting! That would always give me the motivation to continue on.

lizzy - Woohoo for the 120's! My scale read 176 this morning. Still up 10 pounds and no more - phew! I had settled around 166 for 6 months before becoming pregnant.

KimL1214 10-20-2008 09:37 AM

Long weekend, but I did pretty well. I haven't used any bonus points yet and they run out on Wednesday... Should I try to use all of them? I've heard that your weight loss can stall if you don't use your bonus points, has anyone found this to be true? Last time I did weight watchers, I rarely used them unless it was for a special occasion, anyone else do the same?
I have no idea what I'm going to make for dinner tonight...
modkittn~Sorry to hear about your fight, have you explained to him that it was your emotions running wild?

modkittn 10-20-2008 09:40 AM

Kim - Yeah, we talked about it and the night ended up OK. As for the extra points, I rarely used them all. I say if you aren't hungry, then you shouldn't force yourself to eat!

alliez 10-20-2008 12:15 PM

Well I got on the scale this morning after a week of working out and following points (except for yesterday - bday party)wasslightly disappointed! I have lost 1.5, but was kind of expecting more! I have really hit the workingout hard, gone 3 miles every day but Friday. Maybe I am just retaining more water b/c of the workouts? I have no idea...anyway weigh in is tomorrow so I will see how it goes! Congrats on the losses everyone!

A healthy is loss is 1-2 pounds per week, so please do not be disappointed! A 1.5lb loss is a great loss :)

suitejudyblueeyes 10-21-2008 08:45 AM

Hey Flexy ladies!

I'm going to be a little MIA from the Flex chat for a while. I am switching to Core for the time being as I am going insane with all the numbers. I'll still check in with you guys from time to time but I might mostly be a reader (I want to keep track of how you all are faring!).

KimL1214 10-21-2008 09:04 AM

alliez:dance: on the loss!!!

Just because I talked about how I don't use my bonus points, I used some of them last night.

Made some really good oven fried chicken (WW recipe) last night! It was the afternoon snacking that killed my day...

Institches21 10-21-2008 12:00 PM

alliez- I agree with modkitten, you should aim for that number, that is the most healthy way to lose, a little at a time. Keep it Up

Suite- Good Luck on Core. Hope it helps.

modkitten and KimL1214

kestrel 10-21-2008 01:20 PM

Hello everyone, still chugging on along here. :) It's been a hectic week so I haven't been online much. But I'm happy to be back checking in again and seeing how everyone is doing.

I'm inching closer to Onederland, hopefully just a few more weeks. :carrot:

I have to take my very sick kitty to the vet this afternoon, and she may not be coming back home with me. :( It's a hard day.

vdaybaby 10-21-2008 06:16 PM

suite: awwww we will miss you!!

Kim L: the snacking usually kills me too...I try to round out how many points for snacks I can have, and that way I keep track of them before going over. For example, I try to use 8 points for breakfast, 8 for lunch, 6 for dinner, and 7 for snacks.

kestrel: wow you are soclose to onederland! you can do it...and sorry about your cat...that's rough

-Well as for me, I haven't had time to do much concentrated working out because of my new job. I am getting used to commuting back and forth. So mostly I have just been doing a one to two mile walk every day for exercise. I walked the 1.3 miles to work today in 20 minutes, which isn't bad. My eating has been okay. I am worried that I might have to start using more flex points in the future because of my new 7am wake up time. I wake up at 730 am and go to sleep at 12pm...so it's a long day!

JennyG 10-21-2008 08:18 PM

mind if I join in on the Flex talk? I've been doing it since July 08...

alliez 10-21-2008 08:49 PM

I am so pumped right now! My hard work payed off this week! Just got home from weigh in - down 4.6! Now I am totally motivated for another week!
Welcome Jenny, its so nice to have other to talk to that are in the same boat!

Snacking issue: we got a sample of the garlic pretzels today! Awesome, I bought 2 boxes!

Hope everyone has a great week!

KimL1214 10-22-2008 09:13 AM

So it was ridiculously slow at work last night which resulted in me eating way more then I should of and using up the rest of my bonus points... to make things even worse... I have my weigh in tonight!!!

Alliez~ CONGRATS!!!

JennyG~ WELCOME!!!

vdaybaby~ Thanks for the suggestion, I'll try rationing starting this coming week!

Wish me luck with my weigh in!!!

kestrel 10-22-2008 12:16 PM

My kitty's cancer came back. :( She had a tumor removed a year ago so I guess we got an extra year to love her, but now it's back and throughout her lungs and liver. I have to go in about an hour and have her euthanized, she's suffering so much and I don't want her to be hurting anymore. This is so hard, she's been with me through college, getting my first job, marriage, 3 kids, and 4 states including a cross-country move. I know I need to let her go so she won't suffer any more, it's just so incredibly hard to say goodbye to my furbaby.

jennspear 10-22-2008 12:27 PM

newbi

hello, im new to this forum, i find lots of help in the meetings but need a boost during the week. you all seem so friendly. is it ok if i join in?

Jenn

nicoledg 10-22-2008 12:30 PM

Kestrel - I'm so sorry to hear that -- we had to put our dog down in July, she had a massive tumor on her liver, it all happened so quickly. Sometimes I get home and worry when she isn't at the door, it still feels like shes here. But it gets easier, we had 12 good years with her and now she's not suffering. Time heals everything.

Institches21 10-23-2008 12:35 AM

kestrel- I'm so sorry,

Institches21 10-23-2008 12:38 AM

:welcome3: jennspear, So happy to have you join us. There is plenty of support, and everyone here is so helpful. If a boost is what you need, you will find it here. Good Luck ;)

ladyscorpio 10-23-2008 08:15 AM

kestrel - many  your way

jennspear 10-23-2008 08:48 AM

jenn

alliez 10-23-2008 09:06 AM

So far so good this week! Hopefully it will continue! haha
Jenn - saw on TV last night a commercial for Healthy Choice pasta thing. Here is the website for it, might be a great alternative to spaghetti! Just checked to see point value on them - only 5 pts!

http://www.healthychoice.com/product...esh_mixers.jsp

Institches21 10-23-2008 12:35 PM

jennspear- That is super that your dh is going to help you by taking a walk with you. Looks like you are off to a great start. Don't worry about dipping into your extra points, that's what they are there for. You also have a great exercise plan mapped out for yourself. I find if I make exercise, just a part of my daily routine, and plan it, the rest of my day goes alot better. Continued success.

kestrel 10-23-2008 05:14 PM

Thank you for the sympathy, ladies. :( It was a hard day yesterday, hard for me to lose my kitty and also hard trying to explain it to my 4 year old and 2 year old. I wasn't hungry at all yesterday, then ended up eating crap for dinner (2 crunchy tacos from Taco Bell and one bean burrito, all with no cheese). It was about a 15 point meal but I still came in way under my points for the day, just because I had no appetite. And then my body felt crappy from eating the fast food.

And another quick lunch today, a chicken tender and some potato wedges from the grocery store. I was getting ready to cook lunch (grilled chicken & black beans) when my 2 year old ate half a bottle of baby laxative suppositories. So call to Poison Control, she'll be fine but will have a lot of diarrhea. Fun. And we use cloth diapers but I already have enough laundry to catch up on, so we ran out to the grocery store to get a pack of pull ups until this passes and grab some cold medicine for my 4 year old. By then it was after 1 pm and we were all starving, so I just grabbed lunch there. As long as I'm smart about dinner then I'll be fine Point-wise, but once again feeling kind of bleh from what I ate.

Institches21 10-24-2008 01:11 AM

kestrel very scary, sounds like you have your hands full. Sending good thoughts your way. Hang in there, we've here for you if you need us.

alliez 10-24-2008 11:01 AM

I accomplished a huge milestone yesterday for myself! I ran a 10 min mile on the treadmill yesterday! :) YAAA ME!! I was so pumped up when I finished it!

Institches21 10-25-2008 12:48 PM

alliez- Wow that is totally awesome-You should be so Proud of Yourself, that is truly a workout.
:cheer2: :woohoo: :cheer2:

Franma76 10-25-2008 05:27 PM

New here as well

I saw a link to this forum on another forum I post on.

I rejoined WW for the umteenth time 7 weeks ago. I've lost 9 pounds since rejoining, but I'd lost a little over 20 before that on my own and with Alli. I stopped the Alli due to some medical problems that really had nothing to do with it, but it was all digestive track related. Those are now resolved and I am working on post surgical recovery.

My strength is that during all the issues and surgeries, I stayed on program and did not use any of that as an excuse to eat what I wanted out of misery. I've learned it's better to leave the table simply satiated than over stuffed and that when I eat out, me not cleaning my plate has no impact what so ever on starving children anywhere.

I did love the Lose for Good challenge and I was very proud to take my 9 pounds of food in for those who don't have enough.

I look forward to meeting new folks and hearing about your journeys.

Institches21 10-26-2008 09:21 PM

Franma76 :welcome3: Look forward to chatting with you. The way I handle the "clean your plate club" is not to fill my plate up, I still have a problem leaving food on my plate, ever if I'm full. Work-In-Process here!!

**********
Had a great weekend-it's non-stop sports all weekend here, so I've picked up my cross-stitch again, it helps keep my hands busy, and if I'm stitching I can't be in the kitchen, getting into trouble. :o Today I even got some raking done and tomorrow I hope to get rid of all the dead stuff in my gardens.

Well need to run, have a great week Flexers ;)

KimL1214 10-27-2008 09:11 AM

alliez~ Great Job!!!
Franma76~ Welcome!!!

Had my first day off in 23 days on Thursday and had a hard time food wise... Maybe I should just work 100% of the Time... HAHA... I just need to learn how to be home by myself with all my BFs junk food in the apt. I have finally come to realization that I can not have regular white pasta or alfredo sauce in the apt. as it is too hard for me to resist. I did great last night and have my next few days already planned out food wise. I will be surprised if I see a loss on Wed. though because I was pretty off Thursday-Saturday, I only have 10 bonus points left and am hoping to not touch them... I wanted to get up this morning and work out as I have yet to add any physical activity other then walking to my daily routine. Unfortunately I have a nasty cough that kept me up most of the night and woke me up about every half hour that I was finally sleeping... I'm pumping the vitamins right to me and drinking tons of water, so hopefully I will avoid having it get any worse... wish me luck!

modkittn 10-27-2008 09:31 AM

Hey gals! I'm doing good. 13 weeks now, I can't believe it! Here's a pic of the ultrasound from last Tuesday:

http://ailesfamily.com/CodeCtrl/Arti...nedImage-2.jpg

I'm still about 10 pounds up. Which is good - that means I've maintained for the past couple of weeks. Exactly what I wanted to do.

kestrel - So sorry about your kitty :(

stitches - Are you making any Christmas presents? I am making some no-sew fleece blankets. Last year I sewed pillows. I need to find something else for this year to go with the blankets, though. I'm thinking of making my own ornaments, but I've never done that before!

alliez - :bravo: on your run!

kestrel 10-27-2008 12:59 PM

Hi, hope everyone had a great weekend!

Franma - Welcome! I'm in WA too. :)

Institches - I hear you about keeping your hands busy! I tend to want to snack at night if I'm watching TV, so I try to pick up my knitting instead.

Kim - Wow, that's a long time without a day off! Sorry to hear you're not feeling well, I hope you start feeling better soon. We've all got colds here too, I'm ready for it to pass.

modkittn - 13 weeks, wow, already heading into the 2nd trimester!

Hanging in there here. I've got a cold, so do all 3 of the kids, so it's been a rough couple of days. I don't feel like cooking anything but I haven't gotten a bunch of takeout crap so I'm happy with that. Not much of a loss this week but with everything that went on (losing my kitty, poison control incident with my older daughter, then all of us getting sick) I'm just happy that it wasn't a gain. I haven't been working out this last week and I can really tell, I don't feel as good.

Institches21 10-29-2008 12:40 AM

mod- so exciting-thank you for sharing, I just think it is so amazing that you can actually, see a cute little face. So happy for you both. Yes I usually do make Christmas Presents, but I'm a bit behind this year, with my DD's wedding this past summer, and trying to finish her wedding sampler, {I might have it for them by their 1st anniversary in July'09} So, not sure if I will have the time, but I do like the ornament idea.

kestrel- Sorry to hear, everyone is sick, but not having a gain, is wonderful, since you have had a Very Stressful Week, that is a great thing ;) Also, keeping those hands busy is helpful, I agree

 to everyone

**********
Week is going well, no complaints.

KimL1214 10-29-2008 09:36 AM

modkittn~ :carrot::carrot::carrot:

I had to take yesterday off due to about five million different malfunctions... including staying up all night arguing with my bf while throwing up from coughing so much (of course all the food I had eaten had already digested so it was not just nasty, but wicked painful). I have the start of pneumonia with a small amount of fluid in my left lung... niceness, and am probably looking at a weight gain tonight as I feel bloated as all heck... other then that everything has been great... haha... bf and I are fine now at least, but I still feel icky...

alliez 10-29-2008 10:05 AM

I had an okay week - down 0.6. I really kind of expected to lose a little more with all the working out I have done, but I am hoping I will see a bigger loss next week! We did go to the Husker Football game Saturday and I ate a Runza at the game, so that was my freebee for the week! Take care everyone!

Kim - Glad to hear things are good with the BF. Take care of yourself so you don't end up in the hospital with pneumonia, that stuff can be really nasty!

Mod- That is so exciting! My sister is expecting the beginning of June, and I can't wait to see ultrasound pictures!

Welcome to all the newbies! I just love being able to chat with people who are working toward the same goal as me!!

chiquita623 10-29-2008 02:03 PM

In anticipation of attending my first meeting tonight and joining WW, is it OK if I join you all on this forum?

Thanks and I hope to get to know all of you better!!

KimL1214 10-30-2008 09:17 AM

Down 1.2 last night, just glad to see a loss period.

My cough is getting worse but I'm getting more accustomed to it so it's not knocking me on my butt...

chiquita623 10-30-2008 10:48 AM

Well, I did it. I joined WW last night. So you'll all be seeing me around this forum. I'm really excited to get some direction in my eating and am looking forward to talking to you all and picking your brains for your knowleldge about this way of eating. I'll try not to be too big of a pest though.

Anyway, just wanted to share. I'll be back later.

modkittn 10-30-2008 11:36 AM

:welcome2: to all our new members!!!
