I loved these things but had terrible bloating issues, waking up in the middle of the night for pain, and on and on.

Talked to my doctor, and have discovered that I have plenty of fiber in my diet already and no need to add more. Lots of advertising and hype about needing more fiber, and I guess I would actually count the number of grams that you take in each day. Do that for a week or so.

The National Institute for Health (NIH) recommends 25 to 30 grams per day on average.

I learned I was over that before eating those yummy fiber bars. Now that I don't eat them anymore, I am much better off.

Interestingly by counting calories even down to the nutrient level (fiber, protein, fat, sat fat, carbs, and calcium), I have been doing fine all along. I get mroe than enough fiber and calcium each day so no need to supplement.

However, was eating too many calories in total.
