  • Quote: B: 1/2 blueberry bagel
I cannot begin to tell you how much I love blueberry bagels. I fully support this post.
  • I'm going to give this a shot. I do point shifting and have been for the past 3 weeks. I hit a 6 weeks plateau and needed something to jerk me out of it. I noticed here that some people refer to this as the Wendy plan?? I just follow the guidelines of basic calorie shifting.

Today is a lower point day - 24.

Breakfast - 2 cups coffee with 2 tbsp fat free vanilla creamer [each, 1 point per cup], (2), toast (1) with 1 packet Kraft blueberry jam [shipped from Canada because I love it so much] (1)
Lunch - Low-fat Flat Out wrap (1) with 4 oz feta chicken burger (4), 2 tbsp hummus (1) and veggies (0). Small York Peppermint Patty (1)
Snack - Gnu fiber bar (2) [40 minutes before the gym] and 1 cup/8 oz apple juice (1) [immediately after gym]
Dinner - 4 oz marinated grilled chicken (4) with roasted veggies [contains oil] (2) and 1/2 cup mashed potatoes (2). WW chocolate ice cream bar (2)

Sunday = weight training. 10 minute elliptical warm up from low to medium intensity, 45 minute strength training circuit, 5 minute elliptical cool down on low intensity.
  • The Wendie Plan is pretty much just calorie shifting but it gives you a plan for your points level. You can find a sticky about it in the main WW area here! It has helped quite a few people shake loose of plateaus.

And that blueberry bagel really surprised me - I was out and about when I ate it, and didn't want to eat the whole thing without knowing the points. Turns out the whole thing would have only been 6 points, which I totally could have managed. Too bad, it was tasty!
  • Okay, I think I know what I'll be eating today now.

    B: banana (2), pb (3)
    S: teddy grahams (3)
L: ham and bean soup (7)
D: california pizza kitchen pizza (9), spinach salad w/ff balsamic (0)
    D: strawberries w/yogurt (2)

    =26/26

Supposed to jog today if the rain stops, if so I will add rye crackers w/pb (3) to use the APs
  • I haven't been posting, and I haven't been strictly on plan -- but I haven't gained anything during a three-week(ish) time away. Back on track again.

Breakfast — Cheerios, 1/2 cup 1% milk, 1 bottle Honest Ade Cranberry Lemonade (5 points)

Lunch — Chicken sandwich (3 oz chicken, 1 tbl butter/canola oil blend, 2 slices flax bread) and an apple (10 points)

    Snack — Activia yogurt (2)

Dinner - Healthy Choice dinner — probably the eggplant parmigiana — and a strawberry ice cream cone (1/2 cup Breyer’s strawberry) 10 points

    Snack: banana, grapes (if needed)
Beverages: 2 bottles Honest Tea (green) 2 points

    Total: 29-32

Activity: 3 hours of housecleaning and hauling things around (should count for something!)
  • Monday:

    B: Special K (3)
L: 2 WW wraps (2) with cheese (2) and red pepper jelly, pickle, V8 (1)
S: Celery and peanut butter (2)
    S: 100 calorie popcorn (1)
    D: Shepherd's Pie (6) with HP sauce (0), 1 cup chocolate almond milk (2)
    S: Cup of tea with milk/sugar (1.5)
    = 21.5/22
  • Monday = 28 points for me. I'm going to make the most of it because tomorrow is a 24 point day.

Breakfast - My Everyday Breakfast Parfait. 1/2 cup Bear Naked Fit granola [honey almond variety] (4), 1/4 banana, 1/4 cup sliced strawberries and 1/8 cup blueberries (1) and one container Dannon Light & Fit yogurt [flavour varies] (1).
Snack - WW oatmeal raisin cookie (1)
Lunch - 3 cups spinach with 1 cup combined sliced red grapes and strawberries (1), red onion, 1 oz crumbled goat cheese (2) and 2 tbsp Newman's Light Balsamic dressing (1). Small York Peppermint Patty (1)
Snack - Granola bar (2) and 1 cup red grapes (1)
Dinner - 3/4 cup creamy tomato sauce [WW recipe] (1) over 2 oz spinach pasta (4). One light English muffin (1) with 2 tbsp light Promise spread (2) mixed with freshly minced garlic. Toasted as garlic bread. WW chocolate ice cream bar (2)

Can't you buy just enough things for the week even if it means eating the same lunch everyday? If not, exercise and lots of water should balance you out. It's only one week! And then you have vacation! Where are you going?

I support the CPK pizza, though. 1/3 of the BBQ chicken pizza is only 6 points. Mmmmm.
  • I am so horrible at planning on the weekends... I need to work on that...

    Monday

    B -
    . strawberries (0)
    . yogurt (1)
    . coffee (1)
    . bran bites (1)
. lemon poppy seed loaf (2)
    = 5

    L -
    . salad (0)
    . 1/2 burger on bun (6)
    . cantaloup (1)

    S -
    . apple (1)
. laughing cow cheese wedge and rye crackers (2) --- MAYBE

The rest of the day is up in the air... hopefully it wont be too bad. We are going to a BBQ/Concert thing for my boyfriends work... everyone gets 3 free drinks and not sure what food is, LOL
  • I just ate 1/2 of a brownie from Cosi. Nothing in this world could have stopped me. Luckily for me, they were already cut into 1/2 sized pieces or I would have eaten a whole brownie. I'm very tempted to go get another one. I figured it out on the website to be worth 6 points and, let me tell you, it was worth every last one of them.

We bought a couple things - a bag of spinach and some green beans, both of which i'm mostly going to be taking to work for lunches. I don't want to buy too much and have it go bad - we're only here through Wednesday really so it's only a couple days. I figure three days of lean cuisines and baked french fries isn't going to kill me so much as the on the road food will if we don't plan for that!

We are going up to Ontario, camping just east of Toronto, then up to Ottawa for a few days. It's going to be a challenge food-wise, but it will be fun!

From October 2004 to June 2006 I lived in Ottawa. From June 2006 to November 2007 I lived in Toronto. Let me know if you need any help, pointers, advice, fun tips, etc. You shouldn't be too challenged food-wise.

You do, however, HAVE to seek out a Lick's Homeburgers shop and get their famous Nature Burger on a whole wheat bun. It's the single best all veggie (vegan!) hamburger I've ever had--the rest of the country agrees. A Nature Burger is 6 points, the bun is 2 points and a serving of their Spicy Guk (spicy mayo) to go with it is 1 point. The Spicy Guk is also a must have. You can get a salad on the side with FF dressing or you can splurge on a small fries for 7 more points.

Please, even if you only eat it for my sake, please get a Nature Burger. I crave them all the time.
  • I've never lived in Toronto but I lived in Ottawa for four years (I went to high school there) so it'll be something of a homecoming for me. The campsite is near Whitby actually. I don't remember there being a Licks in Ottawa, at least not near my usual haunts... But that burger does sound tasty, if I run across one I'll have to stop in and check it out! So why were you in Canada? Or why are you in PA now?

PS - we had the bbq chicken California Pizza Kitchen pizza tonight - yum! Though I think I like the roasted garlic chicken one the best still...

We're having the CPK BBQ chicken pizza on Friday! I'm already excited. When I went to the freezer last night to get my ice cream bar, I gave it a little glance filled with love.

There's a Lick's in the south end of Ottawa by some big shopping center. I forget what the shopping center is called. South Keys maybe? I doubt it's the only one but that's the one I used to go to.

I was born and raised in Canada in Nova Scotia on the island of Cape Breton. Since I was 18, I have moved all over the place. Ottawa, Toronto, Philly, Seattle, Boston, Raleigh, Chicago, Calgary, etc. I ended up in Philly to settle down with a man who owns my heart. It's a long--yet sweet--story but we're here for now (until my visa expires) and who knows where life will take us next.

Edit: Don't drink the water in Whitby.
