went and weighed in IM UP AGAIN!!! I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO!!
ok went and weighed in for the third time. i am up again!!AHAHAHA. That is a total of 2.6 pound since i started weigh watchers, I thought i was suppose to lose weight. the lady behind the counter looked at me like i was nuts or something. This is SOOOO frusturating. Can someone help me please??? I need it!!!
wow, that must be incredibly frustrating. I'm so sorry to hear that's what is going on for you!
I know you've been posting a lot about all of this, and i think you posted some time ago for advice about what to eat. I cannot imagine why you're weight would continue to climb. Can you ask your leader? The only thing I can think is that your body is taking a really long time to catch up with your good eating habits.
Good luck, try to stick with it anyway, I know it will work out eventually!
I know you've posted about the plan you're following before, but can you answer some questions now regarding what you've done in the past week, maybe we can help figure it out?
-Are you measuring everything properly?
-Are you honest with yourself about how many points you're eating, you're not "forgetting" to count things?
-Are you eating at least all of your daily allotted points?
-Are you getting any activity in?
-Are you getting your healthy oils each day?
-How much water are you drinking?
-Are you getting good fiber?
-How much are you eating now as compared to before starting WW? If the change wasn't big, your body may not be too "shocked" to be on WW.
Be totally honest with yourself about this -- if you think you've been drinking 8 glasses of water but really maybe it's closer to 5 or 6, you need to acknowledge these things. I know some people end up unconsciously sabotaging themselves with selective memories.
Hey judy,
the answers to your question are as follow and are completely true
1. i measure everything exact, i am very anal about that.
2. i have the three month journal that never leaves my side. it is always in view so i dont forget.
3. i am eating all my points now.
4.i walk at leat 5-7 miles a week on the tredmill
5. oils is a not to good one i am working on
6. i do get my fiber in. i am not saying it is the same amount each day but i do get it in.
I know you said that you were shocked that you were expected to eat so much on plan. This is a common feeling for many people, because lower calorie foods often have more volume and fiber and are therefore more filling. However, if you were actually eating fewer calories normally, I would strongly suspect a thyroid issue or other metabolic problem.
This is week two, right? If you have a gain this third week, and know you're sticking to plan, I would suggest you get a good checkup and be sure they test for thyroid and blood sugar problems. Not just a blood sugar test, but a fasting blood glucose tolerance test (it's a three hour test). You might even consider seeing an endocrinologist. Closely following program, it should be nearly impossible to gain weight, unless you have an incredibly slow metabolism (slow enough to indicate something not functioning right). Unusual fatigue is often a symptom that accompanies disorders that lower metabolism (not trying to help you self-diagnose, just saying if you're experiencing alot of fatigue it might be another hint that you have something physiological going on)
This has to be so frustrating for you. Kaplods had good advice. Sounds like you are following plan, but inexplicably, you keep gaining.
My mom is one of those people for whom not all weight loss programs work. At one time, she was going for hypnosis. As an experiment, the therapist had her eating only something like salad and 2 cans of tuna a day, and she was still gaining weight. He immediately discontinued the sessions and told her she needed to talk to a doctor. Being that she HATES going to the doctor, I don't think she was ever seen about it.
But several years later, she learned she was (and still is) diabetic. I wonder if she was already pre-diabetic back then (we were small).
Hopefully things will kick in for you by your next weigh-in!!
I gained this week, like I thought I would. Too many factors with the travel and PMS, plus too much being off-plan. But you're doing what you need to do!!
hi all,
i saw my gyno doctor yesterday (who is also a friend) for my three month check up and she said it could still be from me walking because i am still so sore and achey. She did thyroid and another test in febuary when i was in to check other things and that all came back ok. So i am not sure what is going on. I dont know if stress can do that to you or not. I will work on it and try and figure it out soon..
Thanks all!!
oh yeah i forgot. i wanted to see what other people thought, i was thinking that maybe if i jump start this whole thing they i would do better( like clean out my body or something) but i was thinking of using ALLI with the WW to get me restarted. Has anyone else here done that and if so did it work? Just wondering and just an idea.
I thought about trying ALLI but then reading about others experience with it, and then reading the label where one of the warnings is "anal leakage" And I decided against it. When I think about what's worth it for me weight loss wise, um... well that's not one of the things I'm going to try.
my mom did alli and the only way that you have leakage issues is if you eat over the 15grams of fat per a meal that they recommend you stay under. SHe never had an issue as long as she stayed at the 15g of fat per meal. I dont think that would be an issue since we are on WW and you dont normally have that much fat in a meal right?
Anyway i had a VERY VERY VERY bad night last night. You can read about it in my newpost..
Thanks all
I don't know that alli will work so much as a jumpstart to "get things going." It might help you lose a little extra - but since you're already following a low fat plan, there won't be much fat for the pill to block, which is how it gets its WL properties. I'm not sure how much success you'll really see on it.
If you want something to "jumpstart" your WL, to follow for a week or two, why not try something low-carb? I don't mean severely like Atkins, but a more gentle approach like Phase I of South Beach or even the WW Core plan. I think people enjoy favorable results when switching between Flex and Core, then they always come back to Flex once their weight loss has started up again.
Judy that is a great idea i didnt think of that before. I will do that for next week. This week is nuts with getting the wedding together.
Thanks for the idea!!
I have tried WW's with and without Alli and I couldnt tell a difference in the amount of weight I lost. I think WW's is already so low fat that there wasnt much left for the Alli to remove.
Shannon: Have you asked for some help and maybe some guidance at WW, like having your leader look over your last 3wks of journals. Maybe another set of eyes can see something that you might have missed. I know they have new members, stay after class, maybe you could ask your leader then for some help.
In the mean time, have you measured yourself lately? Maybe you are going to lose inches first then your body will lose those pounds.
I know with me I have to stay away from salt, and make sure I check those labels for hidden sodium, like most pre-packaged diet foods, are low in fat, but high in something else, mostly salt and sugar. I really try to stay away from processed foods, also very high in sodium.
I did try Core for a week, which seemed to help me get past a couple of weeks of not losing, even gaining a bit. I still needed to write things down, I found it worked better for me, than the "only eat til you are satisfied".
Have you tried to change up your exercise routine a bit, like doing yoga, and lifting weights, cardio is great, but you want to push yourself a bit too, your body needs a challenge.
I do hope your week goes better for you, let us know
