Suite!!!! :congrat: Oh I'm so proud :D    You take your time and get yourself back on track. Let us know how things are when you get the chance!

Butterfly - About the gas :o Yeah... fiber will do that! Congrats on the pound! :)

Lovely 04-16-2008 10:31 AM

Hey there Institches - Hope things are going well

Institches21 04-16-2008 10:34 AM

Hi Faerie,
Yeah, I'm okay, thanks for asking

BlzMaxGnrCCJkMly 04-16-2008 12:11 PM

morning all!
hey butterfly drinking more water will help decrease the fiber side effects!
hope everyone is having a great day!

vdaybaby 04-16-2008 01:44 PM

Suite: it's over yay!:carrot: I love it when looonnng educational trials are over...although I can't even imagine graduate school work yet. The longest paper I have had to write was 10 pages...congratulations on finishing it!

thanks for all the advice everyone!

Butterfly: Yes I drink tonnnns of water! That is all I drink, no juice, no soda, nothing except tea without sugar once in a while. That's why I am saying it is so depressing because I think that I am doing everything, and the weight is still not coming off. I drink around 150 ounces of water a day...and that's just average. A lot of times I go above that when I am working out or if it is hot outside. I also am pretty active during the day with walking all over my school's campus, walking up and down stairs, etc.

~Well it is 1045 am, and I have to leave at 1130am...so I guess I better get in the shower!!!
I will probably work out today since I think I am going to be skipping my night class!

This is good to know. I'm going to try adding more water. I've noticed waaaaay more flactulence than one person needs since starting WW! :o:D

freedomreins 04-16-2008 06:06 PM

Good evening everyone!

Suite - Well done! I can't imagine how stressful that must have been. Good luck with the next few weeks; I'm sure once you have more time on your hands you will be right back on track. I know when I have essays to write and deadlines to meet sometimes I will eat really badly until they're finished!

To everyone about the "gassy" problems - I've noticed it too. I am drinking a lot more water than I used to but I've also noticed my stomach makes a lot more noise than it used to as well. I was sitting in a lecture today and my stomach growled so loud that the girl two chairs over from me turned and smiled and all I could do was go "ah... hehehe" and blush and smile too. Ack, embarassing!

I wanted to be down to 145 by the end of May, but I've readjusted my goal to 150. I am still afraid I may not make that though. It seems like I go through periods of strong resolution and those of really weak, who-cares-what-happens moods. TOM is on its way, so I think my recent craving for sweet stuff will probably disappear in a few days, and the constant weariness from the jet lag is keeping me from exercising (though I did walk an extra 15 mins to the other school campus and back today to try and make some sort of effort). I am so scared that I will put the weight back on before my holiday in Spain if I continue like this. I am still within my points for the week, but I've used half my flex points in two days and worry about the rest of the week. Agh, I know I can do this, so why am I doubting myself now? :?: Please don't mind me, I must just be tired.

Hope everyone is having a great week! Here's a dancing carrot for all of you that are staying on plan, drinking lots of water, and looooooosing! :carrot:

Manick 04-16-2008 06:34 PM

Hey Flexy Folks! I am Biggest Loser inspired! Yeeehaw that was amazing!

On the flatulence...mhmm...I also added iFlora which is acidophilus to my vitamin pack morning and night for the first couple of months I was on WW and it made a HUGE difference in complete digestion! So huge my DH thanked me  I went fiber-nuts my first couple of months on WW. I am still taking iFlora every morning.

Also if I'm having a particularly hard to digest meal, lots of fiber or beans or even steak I usually take a digestive enzyme along with it.

I'm big on yogurt eating, but the points, they do add up, so I find this a good way to get the "good" stuff into my gut on a regular basis.

gemini1567 04-17-2008 12:43 AM

I've been pretty busy the last few days. I've fallen off the wagon a few times (in particular sunday), but I actually lost 1.9lbs on my WI on monday, which really re-motivated me.

Ohhhh last night though. It was my & dh's anniv. He took me to Benihannas, which I thought would be workable. Until they put all this butter on my food while cooking it. It really hit my system bad last night, because I've cut out so much fat. I still wasn't feeling well this morning. I had a pretty light breakfast & lunch because of it. Had a good sized salad w/toppings that made up my points for today though.

Manick 04-17-2008 01:28 AM

Wow Gemini...happy anniversary! Sorry you ended up feeling bad...but its also kinda cool that you've been eating healthy enough to the point that you can feel the butter in your system! Keep it up! Hope you can continue to celebrate the rest of this week!

kelijpa 04-17-2008 07:10 AM

Heather glad to have you back, you look great in your avatar, I had good feelings as soon as I saw that, before I even read your post. Great to have found a reason, I don't think there's anything worse than feeling down and not knowing why. My grandpa used to call it "growing pains" so that's what I say when it comes on for no apparent reason, but even with a name it sucks. Again, glad you found a concrete reason for what you've been feeling.

Suite :bravo: What a great accomplishment!! Getting back OP will come, and a little time off prog. may actually help if that makes any sense, I find that when I get OP after being off I lose better, providing I really get OP :D I got out my tracker again this week, I had made a deal with myself to track every other week, well 2 weeks went by and I had a little gain, so :kickbutt: out with the tracker, drinking the water, and feeling better already. And being scale addict that I am, I'm already seeing a loss and looks like if I keep it up I'll def. be in the next decade next WI. So :cp: congrats again and keep going onederland is right around the corner!!

:woohoo: Ali winning the Biggest Loser, I don't know why I got hooked on it this time, I hadn't watched since the 1st season, I think because it was mothers/daughters, husbands/wives, brothers, etc. maybe, I don't know. One thing that stuck with me this time is how they can do much more than they think they can, especially that Kelly, she was a trooper, when she kept going and finished that thing where they swam, jogged and climbed up the stairs in the tall building, I was like, if she can do that at 190 something, I better get my a** off the couch and do something :D

:o so we're all tootin' kittens, eh? ha ha when Manick mentioned the supplement (I never heard of it, but sounds interesting) I remembered that DH had me buy some papaya pills, he was looking for a digestive aid enzyme. I'm going to try taking some of that, I'm thinking maybe I'm eating too fast, or not chewing enough, I don't know, my tummy makes some noises as well Free! :dizzy: My one friend says the reason guys toot so much is they don't chew their food... :chin: oh yeah, and stick with your prog. you've come so far, even if you just try and maintain for awhile, I just went through a little spell myself where I was thinking I'm not ever going to get to the 150s let alone 145... I went from feeling like :bb: to a WW again! :D

Thursday/Weigh-in Day!

Well, looks like we're all together in our extra gas situation  Would hate to get us all in a room together!

Manick - IFlora... Never heard of it! I'll be checking it out, though. And if it helps, I bet my fiancé will be on here thanking you, too! :o

Free - Doubts come and they go. This is just one of those doubtful times you have to work through. Just. Keep. Swimming! You can do this!

Gemini - Happy Anniversary! I've felt awful before after eating particularly oily/buttery meals. My stomach just isn't used to it anymore! It's a good thing.

Keli - Love your quotes! :D

 & to everyone!

---

Weigh-in tonight :) Afterwards is a movie night with some friends.

I'm making this recipe involving roast beef deli-slices. Oh yum!

Getting started working on my passport for India. Got the check sent out for the down payment for the wedding site.

Oh, quick little rant about my apartment. The apt people have been installing new furnaces. (This means that I lost the coat closet down stairs earlier in the year.) But I come home last night to a note saying that I have to have MY closet in my bedroom cleaned out by today so they can finish installing a vent. Hello! Less than 24 hours notice? So I had to spend an hour last night moving things around to get all my clothes & things out of my closet and moved sufficiently out of the way. I feel kinda skeevy about them being in my room anyways... grr. I mean, it's where I keep all my stuff! /end rant

But I hope you all have marvelous days! :D

suitejudyblueeyes 04-17-2008 10:13 AM

institches, vdaybaby, faerie, free - thanks for the congrats! :D

butterfly - welcome! (I missed it when you first arrived, so apologies for the lateness.)

Manick - your Thai night sounded yummy! Thai always makes me want pad thai, which is not a terribly healthy option... but oh, I love it so!

Sonja - eek, a bikini wax! I just... can't.... I don't know... #1 you have to deal with someone else in your personal crotch space, and #2 doesn't it hurt?? It kind of gives me the willies to think about :p But hurray for it facilitating you swimming laps again, swimming is great exercise!!

vday - hang in there :)

astigmatistic - 2+ lbs is FANTASTIC. You should be very proud of that loss!!

Heather - Gorgeous new photo, as always! Glad to see you back, I was just thinking of you the other day and POOF there you are again. Glad to hear you've possibly figured out what's causing your emotional rollercoaster! And oooh, new boyfriend type of person! :D

free - keep your chin up. You're doing great, and you're right, TOM probably has a lot to do with how you're feeling right now. Don't feel bad about re-adjusting your goal... I think time-specific goals are really unnecessarily hard on us as it is. Like we're fond of saying around here, we're not always entirely in control over the number that shows up on the scale. Keep doing what you're doing... get your exercise in (as is reasonable with your jetlag), watch your points, you'll be okay. Don't fret too much over having eaten half your FPs already, it happens and so long as you're mindful you'll make it through the week :)

gemini - congrats on the loss!! and happy anniversary! too bad restaurants seem to feel they need to drown everything in butter, I've noticed that too. It doesn't necessarily make things taste better, either....

keli - Yeah, tracking is something I definitely need to get back on! this whole past week I've been ignoring the points in food as if they didn't exist.. Today's going to be a tracking day, though, I'm definitely putting the past week behind me....

Faerie - Good luck with your passport. When are you going to India again? I know you told us but I forgot :p And that's aggrivating about your closet... They want to put a vent in a closet? Isn't that like, a fire hazard? Or not an efficient way of circulating air or something? Seems a little off to me...

So last night I went down to Richmond to see Iron & Wine, and it was fantastic. I managed to miss the other show I wanted to see here in Charlottesville (which was Colin Meloy of the Decemberists and also three days before my oral exam), so I was really happy I got to go to this one. It was just awesome. They played a kind of abnormally long set though, (close to 2 hours) and we didn't get to leave Richmond til almost midnight, putting me home around 1am and up again for work at 7... 6 hours is not bad for sleep but I sure do love my 8-9!! Blah. So I'm tired. But it was SO worth it. :D

Since I've been SO off this week, I'm starting to have to convince myself I need to go to my meeting on saturday. I'm not wanting to go because I don't want to face the scale... I don't want to see a number *further* from 199, which is what's going to happen. but not going to meetings is a bad habit to fall into. So I'm not sure what to do. I'm trying to tell myself if I go, I can wear the lightest clothes I own... Shorts and a tank top or something... to try to minimize the blow... I'm just getting really anxious about it. Well, at least I can point to the things I did this week to set me on a backwards course and I know I can avoid those in the future (e.g., all it takes is to NOT eat out 5 days in a row, NOT order pizza, NOT go to Five Guys for hamburgers, NOT have an oral exam that somehow allows me to rationalize doing terrible things to my body....)

Anyway, enough out of me. Still playing catch-up at work, so I'll be kept busy today. Have a great Thursday everyone (or, as I like to call it, Friday eve)!

BlzMaxGnrCCJkMly 04-17-2008 10:33 AM

Good Morning Everyone!

Looks like its going to be a cloudy stormy day here! Bummer! I was hoping to go for a bike ride after work, guess I will have to settle for the elliptical instead!
Took a sneak peak at the scale this morning, down 1, but I dont weigh in until Saturday, so who knows what it will show then!
I decided to cut extra sugar(snacks) and diet soda out of my eating plan this week! I was doing really ok with it until last night! WOW the cravings and urges hit big time! Managed to hold them off and this morning I am feeling better! Close call! LOL

Have a great day!

Manick 04-17-2008 03:19 PM

When you come to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on. ~Franklin D. Roosevelt

LOVE it! Thanks for the quote site Keli... Biggest Loser Kelly really inspired me too, she was very gutsy to hang in there in last place every time. Doin' it for herself and no one else!

Suite- I will not go on and on about my love of, um, bad for you Thai food! LOL, Pad Thai and Pad See Ew are 2 of 'em DH still loves them and will order them so I try to have about 1/2 cup (usually about 4 points right there!) IF I indulge and I always make sure I order stuff I can eat. We are lucky to be surrounded by tons of great Thai food joints. I have been eating vegetarian pho lately as it is made with vegetable broth, is much lower fat and I can load it with shrimp, avocado cubes, red peppers, lime juice, etc. and just put in as few rice noodles as I want. I have them put all the "fillings" on the side so I can add my own.

Sounds like you are one busy gal! I can't imagine having classes and work right now...congrats on finishing! Hope you can get some good zzz's this weekend!

BlzMax-did you see the Biggest Loser shameless sugarfree gum plugs? They promoted it as a 10 cal SNACK! I cracked up every time. Good for you on losing the soda, that makes a big diff I hear!

Faerie- How cool to get to go to India! Wow-y! Yeah, the closet thing is annoying, I hated people coming into my apt too, it feels so exposing even tho they prob are not that interested...its just stuff to people in the biz. If you check out iFlora make sure to shop around for prices, it can vary alot. One other cool thing is that it can help you stay well and NOT get a cold...I have had NONE this year, and I am a 2 sinus-infection a year sort of person. I get fired up about this stuff and wanna share with the world. I work in the medical field so I am hearing all sorts of "advice" every week, but this is some that actually really worked for me. Here is a brief overview if anyone is interested: http://www.energeticnutrition.com/se...bs/iflora.html

Hooray on booking the wedding site! Makin' it real! :D Good luck at the WI.

 to all...coming here to post keeps me from extra snacking...guess that gum-snack doesn't work so well for me. 3FC works alot better!

Have a great weekend everybody!

suitejudyblueeyes 04-17-2008 04:31 PM

Manick - I bought some bottled pad thai sauce that is 1 point for a serving. Maybe I can manage some kind of low-point pad thai with it, especially if I find those tofu noodles (what are they called? anyone know what I'm talking about? they're incredibly low-cal and high-fiber)... I think it's those rice noodles that end up being the brunt of the points. Top with some bean sprouts and a chopped egg... I'm hoping I can work something out, I just love pad thai :p

I looked at that link you gave, and it certainly does sound like it's a useful supplement! As I'm sure everyone would understand I'm naturally skeptical of any supplement that sounds too good to be true. It's nice to hear a regular person's testimonial though.

Manick 04-17-2008 04:46 PM

Ooh Suite, what kind of sauce is that? Sounds definitely worth a try! Yes, those Tofu Shirataki noodles, I just got some, but haven't tried them yet! Let me know how yours works! There was some talk about them on the food finds area way back, can't find it now...about rinsing them first.

Totally understand on the supplements...and this is more a subtle thing in general, not really a "miracle worker" like so many on websites claim, but I sure feel better than I did last year. I'm pretty sure it's part of the difference for me. Of course I am eating healthier and exercising too ;)

suitejudyblueeyes 04-17-2008 07:07 PM

Yes! Those are the noodles I was thinking of. I think I read the thread you're talking about, where someone said they smell fishy if you don't rinse them. I have yet to put my hands on a package so I'll have to do some hunting before I can try them out. As for the sauce, like I said I just bought it so I can't vouch for it yet. I just ran and checked and it turns out I lied, it's 2 points per serving (100 cals, 3 g fat, <1 fiber). Though it still has potential if I find those shirataki noodles! Must...find...substitute for restaurant pad thai :p It's "World Foods" brand and I found it at World Market (they have tons of really interesting bottled sauces for different cuisines).

So that's that. :)

To all WW members/I need your help

I have been a member at Metabolic Research Centers since the first of Feb. I have lost about 20 pounds in about 10 weeks. I have another 20 to go. RIght now I am struggling with the decision to leave metabolic and join weight watchers. Here is why and here is where I need everyone's opinions.
My food choices are so limited I am really struggling.
I have to cook all the time and miss convience foods, like frozen meals, canned food and yogurt.

WHat I want to know is what is everyone's average weekly weight loss and would you recommend the program. I can use all the advice I can get. Thanks!

shrinkinglizzy 04-18-2008 08:09 AM

Good morning! It's Friday it's Friday woo hoo!!!

Well, I just read up on everyone but don't have the time for personal responses...BUT

:joker::bravo::cp::dance::hat::dancer::high:
for Jaime finishing a HUGE exam!!! AND that was a preview of the good feelings you'll get from getting back on plan, too, right?? Though of course you're forgiven for falling off.

And while I'm on the subject of how awesome Jaime is, I just want to second her feelings on the time-restricted goals, like, "I WILL get to 130 by June!" (OK, that does sound pretty fabulous, but no....). A few months ago, I read her feelings about how restrictive they are and it really made sense to me. So, I backed off the pressure on myself to lose 5 lbs a month (a goal which I never actually achieved, and would then feel bad about). And guess what happened when I stopped worrying about it? Lost 5 lbs in that month. I'm not saying that will always happen, but it just FEELS better to take that pressure off. I remember the stress at the end of the month, feeling so disappointed, but also conflicted, like I knew I shouldn't beat myself up. So now, no weight goals based on time. Just like how I'm trying to take focus off the scale, because it is not a good measure of progress, so am I taking focus off the calendar.

So that is my rant. I am on my way to my volunteer gig and then heading down to Jerz for a weekend of family fun (read: constant conversations about what I am doing with my life alongside my newly therapized self coming home with deep questions about my childhood, combined with the first holiday in 2 years where I haven't brought John, AND 4 ritual glasses of Manischevitz. That kind of fun).

TGIF!

Suite - They're running a pipe for ventilation through the closet. (I certainly hope their not venting into my room!) But at least I'm leaving the place in a month -_- That concert sounds great! I'm glad you had a blast ^^ (You can sleep on the weekends now ;)) And definitely go to that meeting! It's a slippery slope if you don't!

Blz - Good job holding off on giving into those urges! :cp: That can be sooo tough!

Manick - Thanks for the link! I'll be checking it out! :D

Gosh... you guys have to go and be talking about pad thai! :hun:

NWALoser - I sent you a PM :)

---

My meeting was very exciting for me last night. Tomorrow is my one year anniversary, and I've lost 90 lbs... *whew*... I wrote a little more about it here: http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=140151

This week has been a little floppy for me. Didn't exercise Saturday or Monday, and then yesterday (for all it's wonderful good) I was quite busy so I didn't eat anything between 12:30 & 7:00. I had 22 points left, so of course I was quite hungry. I went to see a movie at a friend's place, and he had this omgosh to die for pasta, feta & olives salad... you can see where this is going. Well, I went over my points. By like... uber. (17 total. :o) HOWEVER! I realize what I did last night was just me being poorly planned, I counted out the points to the best of my ability to record them... just to know, and I'm back on track today, following plans as usual. This might affect next week's weigh-in, but I'm going to work hard this week to make sure it's not much of a gain if any, and it's not going to keep me down!

I hope you all enjoy your Fridays and have wonderful weekends :D

Lovely 04-18-2008 08:13 AM

Lizzy - Posted at the same time! I agree about the time goals. They just don't make sense for me anymore. They worked well in the beginning, and I know some people enjoy them, but I sat back and thought "What's the rush?" So. Now I'm just content with the ride!

Have fun with your family! (No, really, seriously! Have fun!)

Institches21 04-18-2008 08:38 AM

:congrat: Faerie that is so wonderful, congrats on all your hard work, you make it seems so easy :carrot: I know you work very hard and all of that hard work is paying off so well for you.

:bravo: I read your other post, you sure do deserve to toot your own horn, you had an awesome year. :D

I know you have helped me with your kind words, in fact everyone on 3FC are so wonderful. I would like to Thank You, for your help, and you inspire me to try again, and again............:dizzy:

freedomreins 04-18-2008 09:12 AM

kelijpa - It's so embarrassing when you're in a public place isn't it, the tummy noises? Gah. I have been paying attention to them recently, and as oddly as it sounds, they seem to occur most on days when I eat oatmeal for breakfast instead of cereal. What an odd observation, I know, but I'm going to maybe have some tomorrow to see if that truly is the case, and then if it is, not eat it on weekdays!

Faerie - I agree with you about feeling funny having other people in your room. We live in a rented house and thankfully I've been here most of the time when they've been showing people around, but my housemate gave her boyfriend a tour of our house, opened my closed door and brought him into my room when I wasn't home (I found out later because my door was open and my light was on and I always close it, turn the light off before I leave in the morning) and I had a pile of clean laundry airing (underwear & bras included) and I really just wasn't comfortable with her boyfriend seeing my room when I wasn't there. Not that it's really that huge of a deal but in a shared house, it's really the only space that's actually mine. So, long story short, I completely sympathize.

Also, there are barely words to describe what a huge inspiration you are. Sticking with it for a whole year is absolutely amazing, and the changes you've made physically and mentally are incredible. You have some great dedication, and a great mindset. You are exactly half way to your goal! Just think about it, somewhere around this time next year, if it takes the same amount of time for you to lose the next 90 lbs, you will be exactly where you want to be. Can you imagine it? It's mind-boggling! You will have lost more than what you will weigh when you are finished losing and start maintaining. :congrat: Faerie and thank you so much for all of your kind words and for always being so positive!!

Suite - I am sending you telepathic messages: Go...to...your...meeting... !! :) I think it will be especially valuable this week. I've never had pad thai but I have friends that love it. What, exactly, is it?

shrinkinglizzy - Have fun with your family!

I agree with you ladies about time restricted goals - I know they are not the best way to go, but I need to set concrete goals for myself. I don't worry too much about the date (I wanted to be at 150 for our cruise and was off and it surprisingly didn't bother me that much) but I need to have that goal in my head and something like a trip or celebration to mark the end of it. I know it sounds weird, but having shorter goals like working out 4-5 days a week that don't always get met make me more depressed than longer term goals that don't necessarily get met when I intend for them to, but that I know will eventually get there. I know I can always push the deadline back, but as I said, I have to work with the numbers and the concrete-ness of the scale. It seems to be working okay for me though :) I LOOOOVE moving my ticker!

Thanks to the kind words of suite, Faerie and kelijpa, and my weigh in this morning, I think I have found my motivation. I'm down 0.8 lbs from when I left England for spring break (Mar 14) so that means I must have lost the weight from the cruise and then some. Someone mentioned (Faerie?) that getting immediately back OP after a bad week can actually be beneficial and I think that happened with me. When I came back from the cruise, I went immediately back to my 23 points a day and I guess maybe shocked my body a bit. Thank goodness though! I can't thank you ladies enough for the support. Being here on the boards and reading your posts keeps me away from the candy!!

You know those anti-drug commercials? Well, I propose we make our own:

3FC ... my anti-snack. :D

suitejudyblueeyes 04-18-2008 09:22 AM

NWALoser - Hmm, you're obviously asking a biased crowd in here :) I'd always recommend WW to anyone, mostly for the reasons you mentioned - convenience, ease, ability to maintain the lifestyle after weight loss. Average losses vary so much from person to person. I'm going verrrrry slow, losing an average of maybe 1lb/week (I'll go down 2.5, then down 0.4, then up 0.4, then down 2, etc etc). But others I see lose 2lbs/week consistently, or some people lose 5lbs then 1lb then 3lbs, etc etc....

Sonja - Thanks for the emoticon party :D Let me tell you, I'm thrilled to be done. As for time-restricted WL goals, I couldn't stop feeling disappointed in myself if I didn't meet them, which is why I've called them off. Faerie mentions that some people are okay with timed goals and are motivated by them, and more power to them for that. But people like you and me, and half the people I see coming in here saying "I'm not going to make my Xlbs by X date goal, I should just quit," they just probably aren't a good approach... I hope you have fun this weekend with your family and find some moments of sanity amongst it all :)

Faerie - Oohh, I must have misread your post. Here I was thinking they'd be venting something into your closet, getting your clothes all full of gross air! :p Makes more sense now. And I've said it in like two places already but I'll say it again here, CONGRATS. Both on making it a year and for making it to the halfway point. Those are such amazing accomplishments, you're a wonderful inspiration in both respects. I can only hope that a year from now I'll still be on this journey, instead of jumping off the wagon and gaining everything back like I have in the past. Congrats again!!

Institches - Hi! :)

It's a gorgeous day again today! I can't wait to go spend time outside after work. I may go for a little walk/jog or I may just go for a walk, depends on how I feel after work. I think I'm going to a little outdoor concert this evening with some coworkers. Here in town there's a thing called Fridays After Five, which is a seasonal free concert series downtown at our outdoor pavillion thing. Today's the first day of the season and it's just so gorgeous, and the band playing is pretty decent and our office hasn't done anything social in a while. So I'll probably do that. Anyway, me going to the pav will entail me drinking a couple beers, hence why I say the walk/ walk-jog question will depend on how I feel after that. Actually I'll almost definitely be walking 2 miles home afterwards since the busses stop running early, so there will be a little walk!

I'm afraid of tomorrow's WI. Afraid of the stupid scale. Afraid it's going to tell me what I already know. I had a moment last night when I pulled out a bottle of laxatives, thinking I should 'clean myself out' before WI Saturday so I don't show so much of a gain.... what the heck kind of thinking is that? Am I that desperate to have this stupid little number lie to me (tell me I did well when in fact I did not) that I'll take a drug for no reason? I put them back, thankfully. That's not a road I need to be going down. I had a roommate in college who started abusing laxatives, and she got to a point where she couldn't *go* without them and was pretty much miserable for months until her system re-regulated itself. Blah.

Anyway. Hope everyone has a good Friday, and a wonderful weekend for those of you who won't check in between now and monday! :)

Free - oops, didn't see your post! I think I'm resigned to going to my meeting. I'm mentally preparing myself for a gain, and I'm also mentally preparing myself for a loss next week after I've been back OP :D Pad Thai is pretty much just rice noodles with sauce, a chopped egg mixed in, bean sprouts, and ground peanuts. Sometimes there's another meat on top like chicken. There's also usually chopped green onion too. It sounds weird but it is SO tasty. glad to hear about your WI, too!!

Suite - so glad to hear you have nice weather! Ours is ... well, terrible. It seems to have stopped raining but it's still pretty overcast. Your party in the park sounds like a great way to spend some time with people in your office and to celebrate the weekend and the first day of the season :) I'm glad you put the pills away. I know thoughts like 'how much easier would it be to lose weight if I just took a laxative?' have crossed my mind before but thankfully have I never resorted to that either. Now that we all know how to healthily lose weight, why do it any other way? :) That's an NSV for you right there - you didn't succumb to some kind of artificial means! I'm sure your weigh in will be fine, or at least not as bad as you think, and next week is always a new week!

confession:
i ate a whopper on the way to jersey. do you know how many points that is? 19! and i'm even kinda lying to myself bc i had it with bacon and i didn't count the bacon, so that is ALL my day's points in one nasty sandwich!

well, i am approaching a huge dinner tomorrow and have already exceeded my weekly FPs by 8. I'm running my 5K tomorrow morning, and then I'm going to try try try to only eat veggies and some protein at the seder tomorrow. I don't see good things for this week's WI, though.

Yay! 5K done! 32ish min, I think. Forgot to look at the clock as I passed the finish line.
But now my knee is killing me and so I'm going to go shopping instead of going to the gym as I'd planned. Whatever. I ran a 5K today!
One last thing -- my parents drink tap water. that would be fine, I'm really not that picky, but the water here is NASTY. So I'm not getting enough water. I've finally convinced my mom to get a Brita, but she doesn't have it yet. I changed my WI to Thursday from Mon, so hopefully that gives me the edge this week!

Hope everyone is having a marvelous weekend!

Dear Vday baby, :)

you are amazing to drink THAT much water. You should be VERY, VERY proud of yourself indeed! :carrot:

I wanna be like you shoot! :)

Keep UP the good work sweetie and soon you will see the results you want to see angel.

Have a great weekend

....To everyone about the "gassy" problems - I've noticed it too.

:carrot:

hi freedom,

sorry about the stomach growling at the lecture

I am so proud of you for setting goals for yourself.

keep you eye on the PRIZE :)
