Mini-GoalsEven if you're not at goal yet, this is the place to share your successes and achievements along the way! Success can be measured in many ways besides the scales. Tell us about your triumphs, including Non Scale Victories
Many of us seek to drop weight and get in shape for more than the number on the scale. For many of us our goals involve improved health, stamina, etc. If you are meeting a goal such as this, post your successes here to encourage one another.
I am back on my vegan diet and excited about the results. I am now completely off my diabetes meds - despite eating mostly starch! And, no, I'm not going hungry. My fasting blood glucose is running 84 to 93. The body can heal ! ("Fearfully and wonderfully made") Thank You Lord, and thank Drs McDougal, Campbell and Esslestyn!

Congratulations, Sea, on improving your health and getting off your diabetes meds! For sure, the number on your blood glucose meter is more important than the number on your scale.
I am feeling like I could succeed this time! Since September I have been trying to lose weight, eating sensibly and increasing my exercise. Every time a school holiday comes around I fail miserably, this time 2 mini holidays and eating junk all the time plus easter in the space of a fortnight has really taken its toll. Tonight I took the children for a walk after tea, only a short 1.5 miles for 30 minutes then once the kids were in bed I did about 3 minutes of skipping. Then I've joined this site to help motivate me. I am aiming to do skipping for 5 minutes a day, or if I have the time then a yoga video as I seriously need to stretch my muscles (this is an ongoing thing for me for years after a few bad accidents).
I got rid of my scale entirely. The obsession with a number drove me nuts. I have photos showing that I'm doing better now than where I was at before. That's good enough for me! The goal changes from "drop X amount and then I'll be happy," to "I want to take hikes without stopping every 5 minutes." Things like that have been better, happier, healthier goals for me. Hope it works out for you too!
Since having a baby three years ago, I went from a size 14. While I lost weight, I yo-yo'd back up to a 10, and I'd had enough of being tired and out of shape, despite a "normal" body. It didn't work for ME. I've gone back to a size 6. My chronic pain is under control and I feel so much better.
my non scale victory is that I weigh more than I expected, when I checked my weight at the doc some months ago.
When I saw that higher number, I'm not really interested in the number on the scale. My target is to wear the clothes, I wore last years.
With other words to keep my weight, whether lose nor get more on it.
If anybody has the same minds, feel free to leave me a message
My other non scale victory is I wear clothes I wasn't able to wear over 10 years ago, when I lived in another region of Lower Saxony. I forgot I built more muscles, that's the reason while I often have heat inside me^^
And I'm happy with me now because I can buy clothes I like.
I reached my current physique with the help of my former employers of the last decade (work physically) and my education. During the education there was "target group" mentioned, in management lessons.
Target group means to me, I can exclude some fields I'm not really interested in, e.g. restaurant visits. As well when I got snail mails with the offer to wine and dine, sounds nice but I can say I'm not the right target group for it :-) It helped me to save money and nerves^^
I'm thankful to my former employers in the industrial field and my former education school over 10 years ago :-)
