I don't toot my own horn but can I just say that" I am so proud of me"

I completed the app couch 2 5k today. and I'm so hooked on running. I love that I'm doing my body and weight loss with this running. Who knew I love to run? Who knew I COULD run?! I'm over the moon. I hope I will be able to run for a long time to come. Thanks Pattience for recommending this app to me a couple of months ago. I doubted I could complete it even on week one. Now if I can do it, anyone can. I'm going to enroll myself in a Manchester 5k race next year!.

Congrats!
I'm working my way through it now, even though the course gets harder, some reason is also gets "easier" just in its own way.

kurisitarui completely understand what you mean. Once I did the first run without any walking intervals ( think it was 20 min run) I found it easier. Maybe I found my comfortable ness with it? Every time I run, after the first 5 mins, I settle into a rhythm and go into this mind/ trance sorta thing. Hope that makes some sense very therapeutic. What week are you on?

Congrats!

I keep starting Couch 2 5K but I never seem to stick with it for very long. Once I reach my goal weight, I think Couch 2 5K will be one of my non-scale goals, to increase my metabolism and maybe enable myself to eat a few more calories in maintenance.

Only a couple more months left to goal and then the weather will be cool enough to run, too. Looking forward to starting Couch 2 5K again.

You're talking about the "zone" and yeah, I totally get that. It's also just not as horrid on your legs or lungs. The first time I got through the C25K my legs HURT and my knees killed. Second time working through it after taking a break (due to extreme heat in Denver), it was easier on my legs.

I like the zone, makes life easier. It's the same zone we get into when working on things, cleaning, etc. Finding the zone is the best way to get through rough things, and if you can find something that puts you there, it's a great way to deal with inner turmoil as well. I discovered cleaning my house gets me there, and then I can deal with any stress. The more stress, the cleaner my house winds up. I'm hoping jogging will also do this. When I'm really stressed, there is only so much house to scrub!
