Smile 10lbs and 10" are gone!

Wow, I never dreamed I'd be posting in a mini-goal thread. I realize it's only 10 pounds, but that means I'm on my way to 20 pounds. The scale fluctuates in the course of a day - I could say 11 pounds gone - but I'm going to stick with just the first 10. It's funny, I was watching Sister Wives (channel surfing) one night and one of the wives is on a weight loss journey - she said she had only lost 10 pounds so far, but also 10 INCHES. Sounded like so much. So today, after my 3rd week of the diet - I decided to retake my measurements - sure enough 10" gone. The biggest notice was in my thigh - which had been 27" around! Now just 24! Funny, my waist used to be 24 in college! Sorry for the long post (without picutres) - but I am happy and wanted to share, so thank you. And thank you for inspiring me and keeping me motivated - I love to read all of your stories - not just in the goal threads - but all over the board.

Thanks everyone. Like I said, I know it's only 10 pounds, but I'm taking it 10 pounds at a time. Amazing the "inches" - I can't wait to post my 20 pound mark! Thanks again!!

I tried to do a google search on how much space does one pound take up because it still boggles my mind that I'm losing inches. From what I found online there is really no way to tell when it comes to your body other than "2 cups" - Which looks larger than "one inch" - but still - every pound counts as does every inch. The funny thing is - I must have been wearing the wrong size jean the last few years - as I'm still in the same size. I think it will take another 10 or 15 to go down one size. - BYUGAL - congrats on your 10 ound loss!!!!! Keep up the great work!!!!

I think I went down 20 lbs before my pants started sagging on me. Even then I just bought a belt and hitched them up... lol.

"Just 10" does not compute... the word just diminishes your achievement. I'm betting you worked to lose those 10 lbs and regardless of how far you have to go, it is still quite an accomplishment!

So, I say, "Congrats on the first 10!"
