Size 12 to Size 4 - almost at goal!
Hi everyone - I've been lurking here for a long time, reading everybody's stories for inspiration. I have been reading and lurking, and figured it was finally time to post.
I was a skinny kid, but went off to camp in 9th grade and put on 20 pounds in one summer, going from 118 to 138. My family was shocked when I came home so much heavier, so quickly. I managed to lose most of the weight in college, and graduated at 122. But running 3-5 miles a day and eating steamed broccoli wasn't sustainable for me, and I quickly put on the weight once I graduated. Working at a desk job, stress snacking, and no time to exercise all helped.
I am 27 now, and was 138 until I started my program a year and one month ago. One of my friends lost a lot of weight using the BodyBugg, so I decided to give it a try. I've always been an exerciser, but had no idea about portion control and how many calories I was really eating. I also had a soft spot for takeout - especially chinese food! I had outgrown my size 10 jeans, and thought I was just big-boned on bottom. I was also sick and exhausted all the time, with stomach aches that wouldn't quit.
I jog now, but only a mile 4x a week. I write down what I eat, and have switched to cooking for myself instead of eating takeout. Tons of fruits, veggies, and low-carb clean eating.
My goal is 115 and size 2 jeans. But this morning, I got to 121, and zipped up my first ever comfortable (no muffin top!) size 4 pair of jeans since Junior High. And...two Ann Taylor size 0 dresses! More importantly, my stomach issues have gone away, and I'm not sleepy all the time now.
So here are some before and mid-way pictures (the before is not my heaviest, I stayed away from a camera).
