I hadn't done hills AT ALL before the race. I'd avoided them like the plague. My practice was all flat, flat, flat. I'm sure the look on my face when I came around the corner and saw that 60 percent angle hill was PRICELESS!
I knew the town where the race was held is pretty hilly but I assumed that the race course would be in a flatter section. Nope, they picked the mountainous region for the race course!
OMG my thighs hurt so much I can't breathe!
