Default 10# a month

I have alot to lose so I am setting 10 lb. goals for myself. I want to lose 10#a month until I reach my untimate goal of 130# lost.

I hit my first goal in just my first week in MRC. I know this won't continue, but it was a great start!

Hi! I know you'll make it! That's what I need to do - set myself 10 pound goals. What's MRC?

Metabolic Research center. It is a weightloss clinic I joined last week and so far i really enjoy it and it hasn't been bad. I even have my hsband eating healthier.

10# Goals sound good and very reasonable. I was thinking the same thing I want to sign the 10# board.

What sort of diet is it? Is it prepackaged food? I agree with the 10 pound weight loss goals. It actually has me excited - I don't need to lose 100 pounds, just 10 at a time! I'm down 2. I'm on my way! Good luck to all of us!

Great job on getting started! 10 pounds a month is a very ambitious goal, but still within what the human body can do healthily.

Avi,
No, it isn't prepackaged foods. It is a center you go to twice a week and they weigh and measure you, give you menus and are there when you need them. I have been on it about a week and I am enjoying it. You can also buy supplements that aid in controlling your appetite and crazy enough I am not as hungry when I finish them. I have a few friends who have been doing it before me and have been successful. I hope this helps. You can google them. I don't know if I am allowed to post a link to them. I am fairly new to all this forum stuff.

I'm pretty new here also so I don't know the rules about posting links. Thanks for the info. I did google them and it sounds really nice. I'm always interested in finding help. I so desperately want to succeed this time. Keep us posted on your progress. Is it required to make the commitment to go out twice a week?

Way to go! I'm going for 10lbs at a time also. I've given myself 5 weeks to do so or 2lbs a week. Stick with it!

Thanks everyone for the encouragement!! I go weigh in in the morning. I am pretty excited. I have been doing well so far on the MRC diet.

Some people asked what is MRC...
It is a weight loss center that weighs you and calculates your bmi and other things. Then they give you a menu to follow for your specific body type and how much weight you need to lose. They require you to drink protein supplements along with real food you cook at home. They also sell other supplements you can buy, but they are not required. You have to weigh in twice a week at the center. You also have to write down everything you are eating and bring it to the center for them to look at. The counselors will help you stay on track and make suggestions for you to follow.
It isn't cheap, but I figure the money keeps me on plan.

GREAT job in meeting your first 10 lb. loss goal! I am also doing the 10 lb. increment weight loss....after trying and failing so many times to lose weight, I think that losing 10 lbs. 6 times is going to be easier for my mind to wrap itself around than losing 60 lbs...weird how our brains work, huh?

Good luck with the rest of your journey!
