i weighed myself today and i have hit my first small goal! i lost 10lbs! my goal was to lose it by the end of the first week of march... blew that one away! let's just hope the scale doesn't go crazy tomorrow morning for my real weigh-in... that's the one i am going to record!

Wonderful! Yes, if that scale gives you trouble, let me know and I'll come over there and drop-kick it for you!

Okay, I'm putting my kicking shoes on...

Seriously, what I would probably do (because I'm annoyingly anal about sticking to weigh-in dates and numbers and stuff) is record what it says today because it's your official day, but you'll know in the back of your mind that yesterday it was lower, so maybe at the next weigh-in the numbers will be even better because that two pounds will come back off in addition to whatever else you lose between now and then. Does that make sense? Probably not but that's how I think. Just little mind games I play with myself.

I hate those dang scales...mine did the same thing to me the other day and I about threw it out the window. Don't get discouraged, your body fluctuates so much day-to-day. I decided to stop obsessing and put the scale up and away so I won't weigh everyday and will only do 1x/week. That is BIG for me. Keep up the great work!!!!

First of all, you're doing great to have already lost 8-10 pounds. That's wonderful!

Secondly, are you weighing yourself at the same time every weigh-in day, with roughly the same clothes on? That makes a difference. It's not so much the number on the scale, but the consistency with how you're weighing.

If that's not it, than like someone above said, your body fluctuates. Also, not to get personal, but if your monthly visitor is due soon you will probably see a gain on the scale. I do every time and it's frustrating as heck until I look at a calendar and remember "Oh, yeah!".

Good luck!
