so the last few nights I have been lifting 8lb weights(yes I know that's weak) and I have lost 3 lbs!

Hey, eight pounds isn't weak! By lifting eight of iron it makes you way more prepared than most chicks to carry eight pounds (or sixteen pounds) worth of stuff in day to day life. Just think of all the bottled water you can heft to and from your car without breaking a sweat.

Also, if training with eight pound weights helped you shed three pounds - just imagine how your body will react to ten pounds (or twelve, or fifteen or wherever you're headed). Good job girl.
