My first mini-goal

  • I'm new on here... My goal is to be 150 pounds but I didn't exactly give myself a timeline. However, it is my goal to be UNDER 200 (so 199 or less) by January 1st. I'm at about 214 right now. I know it's a lot to lose, but I think I can do it.
  • Hi I started at 206 and am 150 now. Your right is it hard work but you can do it. Stay motivated and keep trying. Walking and exercise really helps me. What activity do you plan to do?
  • Hi peachcake87! Welcome to 3FC! We're so glad to have you

Once you've cleaned up your lifestyle, and added activity to your life, the first few pounds should go pretty quickly. So I think a goal of being under 200 by January 1 is definitely attainable. and lots of
  • My biggest issue is that I AM active. I walk 30 minutes a day and go to the gym 3x (usually) per week. I have been slacking a bit at the gym because my sister just moved into a new house and I've been helping her out a lot. I am constantly on my feet and doing things... except when I work. I have a desk job so that's a lot of butt-sitting. I am going to step-up the gym and make SURE I go no less than 3x a week NO MATTER WHAT. I am in good health aside from being heavy, doctor says cholesterol, blood pressure, breathing everything is good. I need to go through my cupboards... I keep pretty much only healthy food but I LOVE to bake. I always keep one thing (cookie, cupcake or brownie, etc) for myself and give the rest of whatever I bake to my sister for her to take to work. I always have a bowl of candy on the table but I don't like candy, I NEVER eat it. Maybe one piece of candy every few weeks, honestly. My biggest step will be portion control and cutting out the carb heavy foods. I LOVE LOVE LOVE fettucine alfredo! So that's my biggest loss as far as food goes.
  • peachcake87 - It sounds like you are on your way!
Try searching around a bit for a healthier version of fettuccine alfredo. I'm sure you'll find something!
Remember, this healthy lifestyle is about compromise and control. Instead of giving up things that you love, find healthier ways to prepare them, and eat less then you would have before.
Kudos to you for controlling yourself with the baking! I no longer bake, because it was too much temptation for me (I was never good at it, anyway, and there are lots of people in my life who are great at it and love to share ).
  • Another thing I am working on is eating out less. Not only is it hard to resist temptation but it is spendy! It's also too much food. If I eat at home, I can cook only one serving and be satisfied, instead of just eating it all because it's there.
  • Just wanting to see if my signature works.
  • Good luck with your mini goal peachcake, I believe you can do it
