I lost 8 pounds this week!!! Thanks to you all. THis is what I did:
B - 1 cup Kashi Go Lean Cereal, 1 cup skim milk
L - apple, protein bar (SUSTAIN - has no additives or sugar, 300 cals)
S - Lean Cuisine, and one cup of non starchy vegetables and 1 T. smart balance butter
snack - Kashi Honey Almond Snack Bar
I am getting 25 g. fiber, 60-70 g. protein, staying under 30% fat, under 2000 g. of sodium, around 100 carbs, low sat. fat, more good fats. I am not hungry for some strange reason (very rare for me) and it's easy and I have been trying to walk a mile a day. One day I walked almost 2 but my knees hurt too bad.
I am starting a easy yoga tape also - YOGA for Dummies and also have a Pilates for Dummies...there is a beginner DVD for each even I can do. I bought the toning bands, but haven't got them out yet. THis is so easy!!!
Hey girl! Way to go!! It's awesome to see such a dramatic loss from a very healthy and regimented program! Don't let Bargoo's words hurt you. You sure don't sound like a beginner to me, your nutrition plan and workout program sound like you know exactly what you are doing. Ask any doctor, they would be pleased to see you weigh 287 (with your 8-pound loss) rather than 293 (with a 2-pound loss as was implied as more healthy). I think in the long run, although you may experience a slower loss as time progresses, the immediate results you got this week will motivate you to stick with it! As long as you aren't starving yourself, your body will lose at the rate it is comfortable with to stay in a healthy range. That is something that no one else can put a number on.
Congrats. A lot of the time, the big drop is due to water weight that we retain when we're eating junky foods. That's why it's not always the 2.0 pounds as prescribed by doctors. I know when I am on plan the first two weeks I drop like crazy then taper off.
A loss is a loss though, congrats on your hard work!
What a great first week! Congratulations on such a good start! Keep going!!!
Oh, and I believe that Bargoo meant that your weight loss will most likely drop down to between 1-2 lbs a week on average as time goes on, but that this large weight loss is very normal for a first week. I don't believe any harm was meant. And as this the internet, sometimes tone can be misunderstood.
wow! good for you! sure it will slow down, but its definitely a boost in the motivation department. keep it up, you'll get there. iam glad you are feeling good about your accomplishment. congrats!! p.s there is no such thing as "luck" where diet and weightloss are concerned, just hard work and determination. and you clearly have that down pat.
