I find constant inspiration and motivation from everyone on this website. For the first time in my life, I have approached weight loss as a lifestyle change rather than a diet. I count calories and track everything on daily plate. I love how I feel these days, and actually seem to be enjoying the process of losing weight as much as I think I will enjoy finally reaching my goal!
For background, I was one of those people who always worked out but thought it gave me free reign to eat whatever I wanted. I actually GAINED 14 pounds last fall while training for a marathon (and ended up hurting my back because of my ever-expanding stomach -- which actually made me look about 7 months pregnant)...
Anyway, I am now running under a 10-minute mile pace and have gained strength and stamina that I never knew was possible. I'm also down from 16s to 8s.
Without further ado, here are some pictures of my journey so far -- which began on 01.01.09!
Starting weight (training for marathon)
After 20 pounds down...
Down 35 pounds -- and ready to run the Peachtree Road Race -- on 7/4/09!!
And some face pictures:
Marathon weekend (10/2008) – and one from last weekend (7/2009)
It's amazing -- even my hair looks healthier!
