S3a007- ugh! I can't imagine how frustrated you must be! Are you taking your food journal to your weigh in? My consultant explained that while I was eating on program, I wasn't eating enough. I lost 3 pounds the next three days when I added more food. So counterintuitive! Also, if you haven't already, you might try a meal replacement shake...the good thing about them is that there is nothing to weigh or think about. Just blend it up with some ice, and you're good to go. With 2 cups of water and 2 cups of ice, it makes a 32 ounce shake. I like chocolate mixed with the lemon HNS. I have to force myself to drink it all because it makes so much! So, there are a couple of tips I can offer. There are lots of folks on here with MUCH more experience and information than me who I am sure can offer advice as well. Hang in there...don't give up! You started this for a reason...we all did Gotta keep going.

I did find that KLB5 can substitute for the MRC-6, and 7-Keto can be found online much cheaper than through MRC. They have put me on a sublingual B12 complex, glucose pills, a hormone balancing cream and iodine.

So many pills. I hate taking them, but I thought I would stick it out if it was really going to make a difference.

I also went to the health food store and found out how to check your thyroid without paying a fortune at the doctors office. I've had it checked by them twice and they say it's fine, but I think it's not.
NTVANGEL...This is just my personal opinion but I don't think all these supplements are going to help you lose the weight any faster. I say that because I have been there and done that! I started MRC in March 2012 and it took me 6 months to lose 30 pounds. I took all the supplements you mentioned and none of them helped me lose any faster. I refused to do the hormone test (did not want to pay the money for it) and they swore it was due to my hormones (I am 52). So the manager gave me a free test and they determined that the hormone cream would be the magic ticket to get the weight off - not so. I have never had such a problem losing weight in the past, so I attribute it to my age and menopause. I know it is discouraging when you don't lose like some otheres here, but stick to it and you will lose the weight. I was eventually put on the metabalance plan and that seemed to work better. I think metaslim may just not have been enough calories for me.
My advice is stick to the plan (no cheats), make sure to drink all your water, get in all your HNS's and do some walking and don't get discouraged!

Happy February everyone!

I went for weigh in yesterday and down another 1 lb, whoot! They have a note in my file to do a recording for radio advertisement (if I want) so I'll talk with one of the managers on Wednesday when I go back in for my next appointment.

For our new people joining, this program does work if you work it. I've found that what works for some doesn't work for me, such as the all the pills, creams, etc. I have listened, read the handouts and read some more on this site in our area (MRC), gone all the way back to the beginning and read over a bunch of stuff. For example, I was on Corti Trim and MRC 6, they made me feel bloated and for me the weight loss seemed slow compared to others so after week 3 I talked with my counsilor and told her I was stopping them because 1) my budget won't handle the cost of the extra pills and 2) the way they made me feel. She understood and was fine with me stopping them. 3 lbs lost in the 1 week without being on Corti Trim and MRC 6. Again, this is just me, it may work for you.

In short, try things that others have suggested and if they don't work for you, then change it. If in doubt, as your center, we have invested a lot of money in ourselves via this program and we are worth it so get our monies worth!

Alright, my challenge for today is Super Bowl Sunday at my brother's house. I'm planning on bringing my own food, so as to help with the temptation of all the yummy wings, dips, chips, sodas, cookies, pies, cakes, etc... My first real outing to a party since I joined Jan 2, 2013. I can do this!

Hey Peg15 thanks for your suggestions.
I am talking the food diary and i was told that i am doing everything right but somehow weight is not coming off. I didnt get my saliva test back yet though will see how that goes. My center doesnt recommend more than 1 replacement
meal a week.

Work in progress i agree. I am taking all the supplements and develop gastritis and stopped all the meds except the fish oil.IN my personal opinion they were not making a difference.
I hope this week i loose some... I CAN DO IT..

s3a007, I wish you all the best in this program. I would be so upset if I were in your shoes! As it was, I was very, very cranky with the center my first month or two on program. I started out taking the "Big 3" and worked the program perfectly and I only averaged 2 1/2 lbs a week loss. Normally I'd be thrilled with results like that on my own, but with the expense of all those pills I'd caved and bought and the sign-up cost of program and the HNS's, I was seriously ticked not to be getting the 3-5 lbs/week loss the center "guarantees" and no answers/help when I would weigh-in.

It took me a long while to get over it. I had to stop punishing myself for how stupid I felt for having bought all the pills. I had to get over the fact that the "weight loss specialists" were really just salespeople. I had to accept the fact that I was only getting the one menu from them and no further help. So I learned to relax and enjoy my green menu.

I used the on-going expense of the HNS's (which I dropped to the 2/week required minimum) and the ordeal of hauling my 3 kids into weigh-ins twice a week as motivation to continue to work the program perfectly and make the money and effort worth it. I started attending the Connections classes and that helped restore my confidence in the center immensely. My weight loss average stayed the same.

At the end of my journey now, I can say I love this program. It really did work for me and it worked quickly and with a much higher percentage of fat loss vs. muscle than on other diets I've done. I know I will be incorporating healthy meal choices I learned from the menu as a lifestyle choice from now on.

Default MRC Newbie

My husband and I started the program with our kids 1/19 - we went to the food class, and probably the most influential thing they said to us was, "If you eat off program, your weight loss will stall up to four days." We're averaging about $100 per week for our family to do this (more since my stepson is signing up tomorrow), so a cheat is effectively $50. Our children repeat this to us at every cheatable moment. We tell each other the same thing...

So we stay on plan, because I have yet to see a $50 cookie.

The first week, I lost 7 pounds and he lost 2. The next weigh in, I was steady, and he had gained 0.5. He was, oh let's just say - VERY ANGRY. Even our kids (doing metakids) had lost 3 pounds. I do his cooking, so I was pretty sure what he was eating - but he wasn't drinking enough water. He upped the water intake, and as of Thursday 1/31, he had lost 15 pounds. And his belt, which had 4 holes left, had to have a new hole punched to keep his pants up.

We take the big 3 when we remember, a daily multi vitamin, krill oil that I buy at walmart, as well as Cinnamon and Cayenne supplements (also at Wal-Mart). He does no extra exercise, I'm trying - but we both do quite a bit of walking in our jobs.

My whole post is to highlight two things: Drink your water. Drink all your water. Drink some more water. AND Be consistent - the plan works if you work it (absent long term steroid use (i.e. asthma) and thyroid abnormalities - some symptoms are being cold and thinning eyebrows, see your doc if you think that's an issue.)

wow - February is slow !
Im thinking we all are fading or something. I know I did the $50.00 cheat and that sucks. It was super bowl and my husband made freakin pizza. Of course he weighs nothing.
I need to look at a overweight pic of me and that'll help.

I'm glad I declined the one Super Bowl Party invitation we got this year. I can't "graze" anymore. Don't want to go back to the old habits.

SCStxRN, how unusual to lose faster than your husband! Glad it's all coming together for your family. Wish my center hadn't flaked on my food instruction class - seems like I missed a lot of good information. Oh well, I still worked my menu and lost the weight and that's what matters!

konacoral, you gotta start making the cookbook pizza. It's good stuff I tell you! I love pizza. Every other Friday (okay - sometimes EVERY Friday) in our house, since my husband started his own business and basically left me as a single mom, I do "Pizza Friday". Kids love it and it gives me a little break. I've never had a slice. That's willpower, my friends. We're talking about me, the gal who could polish off nearly an entire Costco pizza on my own. I've dreamed about allowing myself a slice of Costco pizza twice a month when on maintenance (one slice of combo: 680 cal, 29 g fat, 72 g carbs!) for seven months now, but honestly now that I've had the cookbook version I'm thinking I just need to let those be a thing of my past. I can see how easy it is to make all kinds of tortilla or light flatout flatbread pizzas with way less fat/calories and they really are good.

I make a pizza using portabello mushrooms for the 'crust' and they are great, plus it gets in the veggie aspect. Another option is to make a cauliflower crust, but I haven't tried that one.

I did really good at the Super Bowl party I went to with my family, did not snack at all! I made the Cheeseburger Soup for myself and decided to take the rest for the family so they could try it too, everyone liked it. I also packed strawberries drizzled with some Walden Farms chocolate syrup for my sweet treat.

You ladies inspired me to make the pizza last night and it was yummy! I had some left over chicken so I used it with green onions, green peppers and garlic.

SCStxRN - welcome and I think it's wonderful that your family joined with you!

All of my family (Mom, brother, sister in law, their kids and my daughters) are naturally thin people so they don't completely understand my journey. Don't get me wrong, they are super supportive, it's just they have never had to work to lose weight or fight through the cravings. That's why I really enjoy this board and the support group here and in the program.

s3a007 - I'm rooting for you...hoping you lose at your next weigh in!

I dont have the recipe book but I did see a recipe for blended up cooked cauliflower, eggs and spices and then bake flat like a crust.
Then put all the fun stuff on it.
Last night I went on cauliflower over load when I blended it up. It was like mashed potatoes.. Oh my stomach!! LOL

Hi everyone! I hope you are all doing well and the pounds are coming off!

I weighed in yesterday and down another 1 lb

konacoral - I made the turkey meatloaf and the 'mock' mashed potatoes using the cauliflower, put a couple of spritz of I Can't Believe It's Not Butter and pepper for taste. The 'mock' mashed potatoes were yummy.

I've tried using the ground turkey breast several different ways (chili, meatloaf, burgers, etc.) and I just can't get into it. For me, it doesn't seem to hold the flavor of the seasonings like chicken or buffalo meat. I really would like to find something so I don't get burnt out on just chicken/fish/buffalo meat.

Anyone have any suggestions for something that might help with the ground turkey breast flavoring?

Congrats on the LB!!!!! Awesomeness and glad to hear you liked the MOCK mashed taters!
As far as the ground turkey meat... i just have sautee'd it with onions and a fajita taco mix and then throw 4 oz into a half flour tortilla. It totally works for me and supports my MEXICAN food cravings. WHICH I have 24/7!
I could live in Mexico!
I do the same with Talapia Fish... broil on foil and add lemon juice Mrs Dash citrus mix.
