If you are just starting I would not advise substituting yet. Get some success under your belt and a good sense of the program. then save a MRC box and go online and compare the nutrition content. It's all listed. The powders you can buy in bulk seem cheaper but the single serving packs, not a whole lot if at all. Same with bars, in my experience. I prefer to buy from MRC for the most part- I feel it keeps them off my back regarding all the supplements they would like to sell me!
